There’s a softness to film that makes even a newly captured moment feel nostalgic.

Maybe it’s the slightly imperfect exposures. Or, the colors that don’t feel quite as polished or predictable as digital.

Mountain weddings look a little different behind the scenes.

Transportation might mean 4x4s instead of shuttles. Supplies may need to be packed in, driven up rough roads, or carried the final stretch by hand. And sometimes, hiking boots are a much better choice than heels.

When a wedding takes place somewhere remote, the logistics become part of the planning in a completely different way. We’re thinking about road access, weather, terrain, what can physically get to the site, and how we get people and everything the day requires there safely and comfortably.

It may not look like a traditional wedding behind the scenes, but that’s also part of what makes getting married in the mountains so special.

Some destinations ask you to visit.

Montana invites you to stay awhile.

Because when your wedding venue is an entire ranch surrounded by thousands of acres of wilderness, a wedding becomes so much more than a single day.

Mornings begin with coffee overlooking the mountains. Your day includes fly fishing, horseback riding, hiking, or simply listening to the soundtrack of untouched wilderness. And evenings end around a campfire beneath some of the darkest skies in the lower 48.

There are no hotel shuttles. No traffic (unless you count an elk crossing). No rushing from one venue to the next. Just your favorite people, fully present for every moment.
