Vincent painted around 200 works featuring flowers, and he created 35 of them in one summer alone!
According to his brother Theo, friends often brought Vincent small bouquets. That suited him well, because he loved flowers and often chose them as his subject.

In his floral still lifes, Vincent was able to experiment with brushwork and colour, exploring how one hue could make another come alive.
