Thank you to everyone that stopped by the Food and Art Festival today on the Jordan Block, and thank you so much to SS Shirts N More for the AMAZING aprons for the Junior Chef tent. The kids that stopped by to make cookies had a great time, and your generous donation of the free aprons makes the activity extra special. Thank you for always going the extra mile.

I do want to apologize for the no-shows, though we obviously had no control over it. I know that a couple of other large events happened just outside town today, so you never quite know which way the crowds will go, but you kind of safely assume that your vendors will show up! As a fellow organizer, though, I am happy that the weather held out for all of our outdoor events--I like to think there is a solidarity across the board and we all just want the visitors to be happy.

We had SEVEN no shows--4 of which were food trucks. This has a major effect on an event, as well as the organizer. Planning and organizing is a long process, and it has numerous expenses, much like anything. If you can't make it to a future event, please just send an email or quick message so things can be adapted. That quick show of respect goes a long way.

What does your Saturday look like? I'm glad you asked!

You are going to start your day bright and early at the Ottawa Farmers & Makers Market, grabbing some great local honey and other wonderful treats.

Wander down to More on Main (just "More", here in Ottawa) and grab a Cashew Coffee and a Sweet Potato Breakfast Bowl. Oh. My. God. Eggs, sweet potatoes, chimichurri. Perfection. 🥚🍠

Go see Leslie at Ottawa Community Thrift and visit the only thrift shop for who knows how many miles that makes you feel like you helped save the world a bit just by walking in. Life changing. Plus, you can start your local artist shopping here! ❤️🎨

Wander around town for a bit and shop local! You can find amazing items that you wont see anywhere else in places like A Mess of Things , Prairie Fox Books , Personalitees , Bold and Curvy Boutique (follow her on Tik Tok after visiting her store to see how amazing her place is!!), Open Space Art Gallery & Studios , and Hey Sweetie. Head over to Heartland By Hand, whether its your first time there or not, and be prepared to find some must haves.

By then, it will be time to head to Jordan Block to sample all of the food trucks and buy some of the great creations from the artisans.

The storms are going to push on by until later in the day tomorrow, and we are are excited for the Infinity Food and Art Festival at the Jordan Block in Downtown Ottawa!

The Junior Chef tent will be making Hamburger Cookies starting at 11:30, and SS Shirts N More has made some REALLY fantastic aprons for the participants this year! The Junior Chefs can participate for FREE, we just ask that you sign up ahead of time, if possible, so we can make sure we have enough for everyone. This Saturday! Check out all of these wonderful artisans and their work. It is ALWAYS a good day to support the Arts. We will be set up on the Jordan Block from 11am-4pm, on the corner of LaSalle St and Main St in Downtown Ottawa! Plenty of food options in the park, AND around the downtown area. Plus, Downtown Ottawa is filled with unique boutiques and shops! See you Saturday!

The 2nd Annual Junior Chef Make & Take at the Infinity Food & Arts Festival is July 12th! This year, we will be making some fantastic cookies out in the park--Cheeseburger Slider Cookies!! Don't worry...they only LOOK like cheeseburgers.
