ALTERATIONS SPECIALIST
We are looking for an energetic, detail-oriented, pleasant and professional addition to our small family business! Candidates should have experience in one or more of the following areas: garment production, millinery, pattern making or alterations. Require experience with industrial sewing machines and garment steamers. This is a Part-Time position. Working with us will also include the following:
• Three to five years' experience in garment construction or repair
• Ability to work with all types of fibers and fabrics
• Perform minor maintenance on assigned single needle lock stitch sewing machines
• Thread and adjust all machines: merrow/overlock, hemmer, and single needle
• Push, pull, lift and/or carry a minimum of 20 lbs., including overhead
• Stand throughout the duration of shift or work for extended periods of high activity
• Comfortable working in an area where may be exposed to clients in various stages of dress/undress
• Assist with on-site steaming and formal wear deliveries for Disney and Orlando area weddings and events
• Measure and fit customers in tuxedos/suits for weddings, conventions, prom and other events
• Proven communication skills, Communicate with supervisory or manager about time cards and repair list
• Flexible and adaptable for all business needs
• Demonstrated positive, friendly and helpful behaviors
• Available to assist on the sales floor as well when busy - pulling dresses for try on, cleaning up after clients and putting away dresses and accessories, taking phone messages as needed
Part-Time requires a minimum of THREE (3) days of FULL AVAILABILITY , this is required in order to be considered for this opportunity
