Thank you, , for this incredibly kind and thoughtful card. It truly caught me off guard in the best way and arrived at a time when I really needed it.
Some of you close to me know that about five years ago, I had a serious accident at a wedding venue. I slipped in a bridal suite shower while transitioning from vendor to guest and ended up breaking my hand, hairline fracture in my shoulder, with a sprained ankle along with multiple tears in my left rotator cuff and bicep. Prior to that, I took a lot of pride in being physically strong and in great shape, but after the injury, I lost much of that. My health declined rapidly, I gained weight, and my physical abilities weren’t where I wanted or needed them to be. My body felt like it did not belong to me.
Because of all of this, our business has been much quieter on social media than I would like. When you are focused on pain, recovery, and just getting through the day, your energy goes to healing, being present for the people in front of you, and keeping the business running. Showing up online and staying consistent simply was not realistic, and my health had to come first.
I am incredibly grateful for everyone who has shown up for me. To my parents, who have been my number one supporters from day one, and to my boyfriend and his family, who have wrapped me with love and care, thank you.
My boyfriend Floyd has been an enormous support, helping with day-to-day things like getting dressed, showering, keeping me comfortable, assisting with cold/warm compression therapy, and taking me to appointments.
His presence has made a huge difference in my recovery, and if you would like to support me, one of the most meaningful ways is by supporting him too and grabbing a pie at his pizza shop, Ziggie’s.
To our employees, thank you for stepping up and holding things down. To our clients, thank you for your empathy, patience, and understanding of my limitations, and for never doubting our talent or work ethic.
Your support has given me the space to heal and the motivation to keep going, and I am looking forward to showing up more fully, both in person and online, as I continue this journey. ❤️🩹
