About Us

In 2015, Cathy and Claire each started their own event businesses. Cathy, with her event venue, HUB 925, in Orlando, and Claire with her wedding planning business, Eventive, in Tampa Bay. This mother-daughter duo constantly compared notes and talked about the hardships they faced and how to make their businesses better.

As a planner, Claire kept hearing the same thing from Couples looking for planning help; “It’s too stressful”, “there are too many details”, “I need help!”. While as a venue, Cathy was facing the challenges of finding serious couples interested in her particular venue while keeping track of all the details and changes in each couples’ plans.

In 2017, Claire came to Cathy with an idea of an app that would help both the couples’ main “pain points” as well as the vendors’. “Let’s do it!” Cathy said, and so EventSlayer was born.
