If I had a dollar for every time a doctor dismissed me because I didn’t fit their "elderly patient" mold, I’d be retired. From surviving a heart attack to navigating life-altering seizures caused by my brain stent, I’ve learned that the medical system isn’t designed for us.

I’m back with a brand new episode of Aesthetically Dope to talk about the trauma, the recovery, and the reality of being a "young" patient in a broken system.

As a reminder my business is LGBTQ+ affirming. I created this badge years ago for my business. No man will make me change my stance on the right to personal freedoms. I refuse to support this current administration. I refuse to engage with anyone who supports his rhetoric. And if you saw Elon Musk Roman salute - which is still a fascist salute, And you thought nothing wrong with it, do you not ever contact me. My business is not for you.

If you tell me I should leave politics out of my business, then you clearly don't understand what politics has done to my personal freedoms and liberties, so no politics will not be left out of my business because politics is my business when they start meddling in my business.

Hey there! Usually I wouldn’t post this but I wanted to share a bit of a life update. As some of you may know, I have intracranial hypertension. For my specific case, it is caused by the veins in my head being too small, making it difficult to carry the oxygen poor blood from my brain out to my heart.

Although my condition is neurological, most of my surgery is handled in the cardiac unit of the hospital.

Anyways - yesterday was the first test to confirm if I am a candidate for a stent. The test is called a cerebral angiogram. The test is not complex (but I would not say it’s a walk in the park). The test involves using a catheter in the groin in the vein and artery and using a special dye to take images of the brain. Once pressure is confirmed and the veins are confirmed I’ll be told if I am a candidate for a stent (which I am).
A stent should help alleviate the pressure by widening the veins.

I am taking it easy this week and I’ll get back to you all when I can. ❤️ Thanks 😊
