Making pasta is one of my absolute favorite things to do in the kitchen—even though I don’t get to do it nearly as often as I’d like. Fresh, housemade pasta can be tricky to pull off perfectly in a home setting, especially for larger groups. But whenever I get the chance to cook for a smaller, more intimate gathering and someone requests pasta, it always makes me happy.

We recently had the pleasure of preparing a three-course savory menu for a micro wedding celebration. When they asked for ravioli, I knew exactly what I wanted to make. There’s something truly special about the way the champagne shines through in the cream sauce, paired with perfectly al dente pasta and a bold finish of olive oil. The dish looked beautiful—and tasted even better.
