Who’s this excited for suuummmeeerrrrr.

Somehow summer sneaks up on me and we always have a mix of a million work and personal plans.

There are festivals, pool days, fairs, camping trips, camps, movie nights and more I want to do with the girls plus gorgeous summer sunsets with your families and seniors. Plus just a slower more relaxed daily pace around here.

And the before we know it, it’s gone.

Why not more?

Many of my clients ARE their own brand these days. Travel agents, authors, realtors, creatives, designers, consultants, speakers, etc.

You're creating a personal brand that your clients gravitate to when choosing who to shop with. So while yes, you need a headshot, have you thought about the fact you might need just a bit more?

You might need a variety of dynamic yet coordinated portraits you can roll out in different settings like:
- your website about me page
- website contact page
- email signature
- Linked IN profile
- other Social Media profiles
- business cards
- brochures & ads
- and more

While those could all be the same image. They could also be a bit more dynamic. Our headshot sessions ALWAYS include 2 looks on 2 backdrops but with our full hour session we can slow down, dive a bit deeper and create a bit more so you can 1) see what feels the most like you and 2) select more images that work across your entire brand presence.

Like seriously. I'm routinely amazed at your stories and your lives. And the fact that I get to keep being a tiny part of helping highlight and share them.

I can almost guarantee you that every strong brilliant beautiful woman you’ve ever looked up to or wondered how she does it has, at some point, felt like she’s not enough. Like she’s doing something wrong or falling apart and failing.

There’s a reason we have the sayings like “heavy lies the crown” and “the grass isn’t always greener” … the truth is in my experience life is often layered and complex which means while it’s great it can (at the same exact time) also be terrible. We can be full of joy while also breaking. Can be feeling like a failure while also inspiring many.

It’s pretty impressive actually that you can be all this at once. You’re not just one thing. Not defined by the simple words we find to describe things… mom, wife, daughter, business woman, queen, middle aged, successful, ambitious, boring, stuck up, kind, friendly…. Maybe you’re all of it.

As I get older I’m striving (really hard) to listen more and talk less (I get excited and interrupt a lot and I’m working on it). But I’m not trying not to talk to hide myself but rather I’m realizing the older I get the more I want to know more and connect more. I want to be quiet long enough that I hear the story behind the story you tell everyone. It takes slowing down which I’m also terrible at but it’s good to have goals right?! So that’s one of mine right now.

When we first moved into our home it didn’t take long for my husband to ask what my plan was for the walls.

You see he’d lived over a decade in a home where we’d designed and added to a home gallery. Year by year we’d curated and added a new piece or two to our family story in our wall. We mixed sizes and finish styles to create something unique but coordinated and we had pieces in that gallery from 10” to 50” in size.

But we had a gap of almost 2 years without being surrounded by our gallery and the new home walls were white white white. More than color we needed LIFE on those walls.

Our new home gallery is quite different from our first though. We have more walls and more pocket spaces in this home so we have some rotating portrait art pieces and some anchor pieces that are our favorites and stay in place year round.

There’s no wrong answer or one size fits all approach to a home gallery but without a doubt creating these for your home is my favorite part of family portraits. Trust me, it doesn’t have to be stressful either. We will photograph your space, work in new portraits with existing art and prints, plan ahead and even complete the stress free experience with installation!

I got asked the other day if I’m still doing kids and family portraits? For sure. While most of my work these days has started to be with more business, brands and corporate sponsorships I’m absolutely still available for your families!

It’s such a fun part of my job to watch your babies grow and be a part of making sure we never ever forget those perfect chubby cheeks! And our baby grows plan is still an amazing TWO year portrait experience just for little ones that join us from week 1 of life 🙌🏻.

One of my favorite things in the Illinois studio is the ability to mix and match natural and studio light seamlessly on your session. This particular session was one of our Limited Edition sessions which are in-studio short sessions offered only a few dates a year.

These are quick sessions designed for annual updates that are classic and consistent.

Being able to simply walk over from the studio lighting side of the studio to our beautiful north light bay means we can create this variety in seconds (which matters with dad and kid attention spans!).

Sometimes a traditional “headshot” just doesn’t make sense for the team. Maybe something outside is more fitting (just had that this past week with a team that works outdoors most of their days) or maybe like it makes more sense to create the portraits in your space.

While you may not need super formal headshots on a backdrop wearing a suit, I DO think just about everyone does need a great headshot these days.

Your customers and clients want to see who they’re working with. Your social media followers do to. A simple and natural and true to you headshot can be an instant boost to the trust in your brand.
