Six years ago Ryan and I decided to pivot in an unexpected way. But honestly not in a truly surprising way. We moved … not because things weren’t working out. Not because we hadn’t found success in both our careers. Not because we hadn’t formed connection to our neighbors and community. No actually it’s because we HAD all that. And yet, our roots were strongly planted in Missouri and those roots and our connection to the people and the place that raised us was too strong to ignore. So we did the unthinkable…. We erased the life we’d spent a decade building. Sold the house moved into the camper and took the leap.

I couldn’t be more thankful for the clients and community and friends of central Illinois and the support that built my business also showed up for us through the transition. Now I get to operate businesses in BOTH mid-Missouri and central-Illinois and get to share our beautiful studio space with other photographers and new this year a gorgeous salon!

Of course, that studio is also for sale and we’re excited to have planted a seed in the community we loved for a decade and to see what the next owners grow it into. Honestly, we have some really exciting ideas that we think could shape the community in incredible ways and are just waiting for the people with the passion and vision that we had (or a new vision) to come make it their own.

Oreana folks what would you like to see come to the corner of South & 48?

Some ideas we’ve had include: coffee shop, micro brewery, retail shop, bridal boutique, spa/beauty services, micro retail shop, greenhouse & garden shop, event venue… what do you think?

Today, The Shops Participants had the opportunity to take professional headshots with the amazing Sarah Jane Photography! 📸

As part of our current Branding Project, these headshots will help participants better promote their businesses and build their personal brands. We love seeing the confidence reflected in the final results and watching each entrepreneur shine in front of the camera!

So excited about this absolutely stunning session with Alyssa that I get to deliver today. A huge thank you to Girard Luxury Homes for allowing us to create inside their gorgeous new model home. The home offered so many beautiful spaces to create with different feels which is ideal for a branding session where we may want some refined, some casual and some fun looks.

Who does NOT need a headshot portrait?

For real, let's have some fun and play this game. I'll tell you in a LONG time of creating personal and professional branding images and headshots I've really only come up with one answer to the career that really wouldn't benefit/use/need a great headshot portrait.

I'd love to hear if you agree or if you can think of others (mine's in the comments).

When you get an email from dear ACA Business Club Columbia MO friends and clients at True North that just starts "HELP!" what else is there to do but reply, 'Absolutely, don't stress!'

Last minute Friday I pivoted to join the mosts amazing room full of powerful women to create images with them and their friends, families, sisters, support at the Little Black Dress girls night out fundraiser. If you've never been let me encourage you to mark your calendars for next year and bring your favorite women for a fun and supremely powerful evening.
