Story time!
Nick and I met swing dancing in 2013. We were very casual friends and we fell out of touch with only being connected by social media. In 2018 Nick went on a 3 month long trip to NZ and I followed his adventures to get tips on places to go. In late 2019 I was planning my own trip to NZ for 2020 (which got canceled because of Covid). But I contacted Nick to get his advice. He suggested a meetup and we got brunch and ended up talking about NZ, travel, life, relationships, God, goals, and so much for several hours. We started hanging out as friends for a year and a half and then started dating in March 2021 ❤️. When we got engaged we talked about NZ as a honeymoon but we opted to wait for it for our 1 year wedding anniversary trip, and it was worth the wait!
It is so neat to look back and see God’s hand in our journey. He used our mutual love of hiking, adventure, and travel to bring us back into each other’s lives and He has continued to grow us together ever since. I am so blessed to have had now over a full year married to my best friend and to have the opportunity to explore the world together ❤️❤️❤️
Another sweet note is that when Nick was in NZ 7 years ago, he went out and found a jade stone and he went to a shop and shaped a necklace from for himself that he has worn many times. But on Christmas Day in NZ he surprised me with a piece off of that same jade stone and we went back to the same shop he made his necklace and made one for me ❤️ He kept that piece for 7 years wanting to give it to his wife one day and he kept it as a surprise from me this whole time 🥰🥰🥰 So while he was in NZ 7 years ago saving a piece of jade for his future wife, his future wife was also following his adventures in NZ, and his trip there is what God would use to bring us together 🥰❤️ I love every piece of our story and I sit back in marvel seeing how God was working behind the scenes without either of us knowing ❤️ I am so very blessed to have such an amazing, God-fearing, adventurous, loving, fun, kind, and serving husband. And I thank God for being able to adventure through this life with Nick by my side!
