I got this plaque for my mom for the memorial garden in my backyard. Just gotta wait for spring for the forget-me-nots and poppies to return to fill the color in.

Explanations: my dog and my mom's cats and rabbit cremains are interred here.
I was able to get Cal's plaque returned to me by a couple of angels when the memorial wall and FOF were no more.
I didn't know how to get another pewter plaque to match Cal's so I sought one out online. I came across this one with the poem and monarch butterfly....why this symbol and not a yellow haired lady or a humming bird? Because when she passed, our yard had monarchs daily, especially when we came outside.
It also makes sense to me that the monarchs became her icon when I consider her spirit name that was given to her by a medicine man many years ago.

I think what I hate is the attitude.

So let’s clear this up. When you drag your junk into the driveway it’s a yard sale. When I drag it online it’s greedy reselling. Same thing different hustle.

Walmart can mark up a 2 dollar shirt and sell it for 20 and that’s just business. But if I sell that same shirt for 15 on eBay I’m the problem. Goodwill gets free donations slaps a 40 dollar tag on Target clearance and somehow they’re helping the community. But I buy with my own cash take the risk do the work and suddenly I’m the devil. You sell your old iPhone on Facebook Marketplace and call it making a little money back. I sell mine and I’m ruining the economy. A car dealership buys low and sells high every damn day and nobody bats an eye. I flip video games from a yard sale and now I’m public enemy number one.

The hypocrisy is wild. Everyone resells. The only difference is some do it once in their driveway and some of us build an actual business out of it. Don’t get mad at me for putting in the work you weren’t willing to do.

Here’s the truth: you don’t hate resellers. You hate seeing somebody else win with the same opportunities you passed up.

Hello - mom's medical needs and pain management has become more than can what be managed here at home. She has been moved to the attached location. She may be asleep or heavily medicated. She last dreamt of riding a dragon's tail and us all going on an adventure.

I am soon to be leaving for respite/hiatus. Thank you for your understanding and good thoughts.

I don't know what to do. I mean, I do because I've done it for so long, and here I'm having to go through this all again...I've set up a small alter sort of living memorial here at home. All are welcome. Please help spread the word. It's the communication that I'm feeling most taxed with. Everything else I'm taking day by day and I'll try to find out more of her wishes on the good days.

I did not want to have to do it in this fashion, but this seemed the easiest and quickest way to make the announcement. For many years I have said that I have been busy as caregiver for my Mom Theresa, the founder of THE Hornsmythe. Prior to that, Cal was the caretaker for both my Mother and the face of the company. Due to her long-standing battle with brain injury, an immunological disorder, and a slowly progressive terminal disease, I have been hesitant to reach out much of this time for help. You can only ask for help, monetary or otherwise, so much when someone is ALWAYS sick. Within the last few months Theresa's health has deteriorated with many hospitalizations since the beginning of the year. Her heart, broken with the loss of Cal is now failing, even with the valve replacement. Her lungs have followed suit and are also in the midst of disease. I am sad to say that my mom has finally entered hospice and her final days are on the horizon.
