Office Closure – Wednesday, September 2

Our office will be closed on Wednesday, September 2, at noon as we gather to attend the funeral and celebrate the life of Janice Wielenga.

In 1968, Donald Wielenga founded OC Sanitation with Jan by his side. While the business has grown and evolved immensely since those early days, we are incredibly thankful for the strong foundation that Donald and Jan built together and for the legacy they have left with our company.

All routes will run as normal on Wednesday.

If you have any questions, please reach out to us by phone or email. We will return to the office and be in touch again on Thursday, September 3.

Thank you for your understanding and for allowing our family time to honor and celebrate Jan’s life.

Need More Room in Your Trash or Recycle Toter?

We’ve got options--

OC Sanitation provides two sizes of toters so you can choose what works best for your home.

-- 65 gallons
-- 95 gallons

If your current container fills up faster than you’d like, you can upgrade at any time. Depending on your community, you may be able to have more than one toter for trash or recycling.

A little extra space can make a big difference — let us know if you’d like to make a change.

*Toter rules vary by community. Give us a call, or reach out to your city administrator, to see what options are available.

Due to current market conditions, there is no payout for cardboard. We continue to keep our cardboard drop‑off open as a free service to our community, but contamination has become a significant issue.

When non‑cardboard materials are placed in the shed, the entire load is considered contaminated, and we are charged a contamination fee. This makes an already costly haul even more expensive.

We kindly ask everyone using the cardboard shed to be extremely diligent in ensuring that only cardboard is placed inside. No other materials—even recyclable items—are allowed in the cardboard shed.

For all other recyclables, we provide a separate community recycling dumpster located by our office.

If contamination continues, we will unfortunately be unable to keep this service open to the public. We appreciate your cooperation and your help in keeping this community resource available. Thank you.
