On behalf of the conference committee, it saddens us to announce that we are officially canceling the upcoming conference. I can promise this decision was not made in haste as we have wrestled with this for days. We have tried to come up with schedule changes and solutions that would make it work, but mother nature had other plans. This decision was made with the consultation of local officials. We just don’t know what the aftermath of the storm will look like and we have attendees, speakers and vendors that must consider travel plans and changes. And most importantly, we must consider the safety of everyone.

Conference registration refunds will be issued in full to the credit card the charge was made with. This will take a little time to get done, so please be patient. If you have reservations at Perdido Beach Resort, Island House, or a Brett Robinson property, you must call and cancel that reservation. For those that still may want to try and visit after the storm, Perdido Beach Resort will continue to honor the group rate for the length of your reservation if the property is accessible beginning Sunday, October 11th.

We thank you for your patience and understanding this week as we navigated through these decisions.

On a personal note, I want to thank the conference committee team. They do an outstanding job in their areas and I couldn’t be prouder of how they go about getting the conference put together. We work year round organizing and planning, and it shows. I want to personally thank all of them: Rod Coleman, Megan Smith, Robbie Young, Kris Young, Kristi Stamnes, Sabrina Dobbins, Kathryn Byrd, Mike Eubanks, Donnie Smith, Lee More, Aislinn Campbell, Samantha Sanders, and Brian Godsy.

On behalf of the conference committee, we wanted to provide you with this update. After a call with the Perdido Beach Resort, they are business as usual as of today for the weekend. But we feel we need to be proactive and make some adjustments so everyone can feel as safe as possible traveling to Orange Beach. While of course we have no idea what the aftermath will look like, hopefully all great news, we want to plan as best we can. So, for now, here is an updated schedule:

Sunday APCO Supersession has been canceled. If you signed up for this you will be refunded your money.

Registration starts Sunday from noon until 5pm and reopens Monday morning.

Sunday night vendor reception has been cancelled and the food for this event will now be moved to our Monday Night Party.

The reason for cancelling Sunday night did not come easily. We feel we should allow everyone ample travel time Sunday to prepare to start our conference on Monday morning. The schedules for Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday will remain the same with breakfast starting at 7:15am and opening Keynote beginning at 8am on Monday.

We know some of you had reservations at Brett Robinson Properties and they made the decision to cancel those for the weekend. There are currently some vacancies at Perdido Beach Resort. If you will call them at 251-981-9811 option 1, then option 2 – that will connect you with their reservation people on site, not the Mariott switch board. You will be able to book in the block if there is availability.

If travel restrictions become evident after the storm moves through on Saturday, we will reevaluate our plans and keep you updated. Feel free to reach out with any questions and we hope to see everyone for conference!

As a lot of you are, the conference committee and the Perdido Beach Resort is closely monitoring the incoming tropical system. While we certainly can't predict what is to come, as of now the conference is still continuing as planned. The only scheduled change is the Opening Reception time has been moved to 6pm-8pm and the registration desk will stay open until 5pm on Sunday. We will post here with any other updates.
