What makes me the proudest about being Orange Beach's mayor is how proud our community is of our Veterans Memorial.

The plan was set to build more than just a monument—to build a lasting tribute to the men and women who sacrificed for our freedom. The Orange Beach Veterans Memorial stands tall as a daily reminder that our freedom wasn’t given, it was earned through courage, sacrifice, and service.

With its 110-foot flagpole proudly flying a massive American flag, surrounded by the flags of our military branches and first responders, this memorial is one of the most meaningful projects the city has ever taken on. And at its heart, the words say it best:

“LAND OF THE FREE BECAUSE OF THE BRAVE – FREEDOM IS NOT FREE.”

I encourage everyone—whether you’re a resident or a visitor—to take a moment at the memorial. Reflect, give thanks, and remember those who gave everything so we could enjoy the lives we live today.

Orange Beach will always be a city that honors and remembers. 🇺🇸
