Over the next 2 days will be a beautiful spectacle of nature happening in the skies. The Lyrid Meteor showers. You will be able to see thousands of shooting stars. The Meteor shower will peak on April 21st until 22nd. This will be visible worldwide and you can start seeing shooting stars from sunset to sunrise. Remember to make a wish if you see one.

Everything is Coming Up Sunflowers!
The Otsego Master Gardeners will be at the Earth Fest and we will be celebrating Sunflowers on April 26 from 10 - 3. Sunflowers, native to North America and cultivated for over 4,500 years, have a rich history and diverse uses, from food and medicine to oil production and even soil remediation. MG Darleen Fournier has put together an interactive display at the Earth Fest to celebrate the flowers that brighten our hillsides in the summer. You will be able to learn, plant, taste, and create all around the theme of sunflowers. There will be a MG composting demonstration. There will also be information on native plants and resources to help gardeners of all ages. Come, grow with us!

I had a great time arranging flowers again; it brings me so much joy! I didn’t grow these myself—only the daffodils, since it’s still SNOWING here in NY and not many flowers have made their debut yet. But arranging these flowers for was such a fun way to brighten up the day!
