Onawa Community Recreation Center and Parks & Recreation Onawa Community Recreation Center The Onawa Community and Recreation Center opened its doors to the public on January 2nd of 2003.

The project was made possible by the generous donations and endless support from the local community, state and local grants, municipal electric utility and the City of Onawa. The center has a community hall able to seat just over 400 people with full kitchen facilities, smaller meeting rooms, an executive boardroom with overhead TV and visual media equipment, a fully equipped exercise room, and a room for community youth groups to hold their meetings and supplies.

HELP WANTED: The City of Onawa is now accepting applications for one (1) seasonal part-time position to assist at the Onawa Community Center facility starting early May and ending early August. Job will include organizing/scheduling meetings and events; activating and renewals of fitness center memberships; and other duties as assigned. Application forms are available at the Onawa City Office, 914 Diamond Street, Onawa, IA 51040 or on-line at onawa.com. Applications will be taken until position is filled. EOE
