There is something powerful about choosing to show up for your community, and people like Shelina remind us what that truly looks like.
Shelina has been a consistent presence at Highlander Community Day, bringing her time, energy, and heart to every moment of service.
“Volunteering is a way I give back to the community I live in and serve. I love volunteering with Seventy-Five North because they are doing the work necessary to make sustainable changes for all, and as I drive through the area, I can see work completed and in progress. Being born and raised here in North Omaha, I lived in the housing projects as a kid, and to see the apartments and other housing that have been developed is a full-circle moment for me. I am happy to see the new development they are providing for all residents. Attending the annual Community Day and volunteering to celebrate the residents each year has been an honor. Everyone always has a great time and enjoys good food and entertainment. Seeing the smiles and thank you’s brings joy to my heart.” -Shelina Williams
Because of volunteers like Shelina, community events become more than gatherings; they become moments of pride, connection, and visible progress.
