While going through some belongings recently, I happened to stumble upon a crinkled envelope lost and forgotten to time, and by pure coincide, contained within were mini flyers for TABULA RASA, the debut night for Club Sinthesis. Last night, we celebrated our first anniversary, and at the time I'm writing this, it's been exactly one year later since this journey started.
After losing the Church, I was VERY uncertain about the future of Sinthesis, but we buckled down, adapted to the circumstances, pushed forward, and 365 days later, Sinthesis is panning out better than I could ever imagine. More often than not, each night has gotten better and better, with solid turnouts each time and always lots of fresh new faces in addition to familiar friends, and everyone always looks like they're having a great time.
My DJ journey began in February of 2019, and since Day One, my dream has been to front an industrial night. It's now August 31, 2025, one whole year of doing that very thing, and it has been an absolute privilege witnessing that dream unfold before my eyes. Dreams, however, can't always be achieved solitarily, and Sinthesis is no exception. Some thank yous are in order, starting with a MASSIVE shout-out to DJ Barrens, my partner-in-crime through this adventure - Jamie, if you're reading this; when I first told you I was starting my own night and wanted you to be my co-resident, I was giddy beyond description when you agreed, because there's NOBODY I'd rather take this on with than you.
Another huge thank you to the Verdict for the opportunity and taking us in when nobody else would. The Verdict has been nothing but a wonderful host, and I couldn't imagine finding a better residency.
But the biggest thanks go to everyone who shows up and makes the nights as special as they are. Without all of you, there would be no Sinthesis, and nothing makes us happier than seeing all of you stomp your hearts out to those grittily sweet industrial beats. Thank you all so much for making Sinthesis something truly special.
It's been a great year, and with all the tricks we've got up our sleeves, I'm pleased to say we're only just getting started.
