Today was probably the most productive crafting day I've had in a while. These invitations are the start of some Mickey-inspired decorations for a first birthday! One of my favorite ladies said I can go as extravagant as I want- and I can't wait to finish the rest of the pieces! ❤💛🖤

If you're anything like me, you wait until the last minute to plan or finish something. I had planned on putting this banner together last month, and then all of a sudden it's already Valentine's Day. I decided to upload it as a freebie, in case someone else needs a quick project for Sunday! All you need is a printer, scissors, a hole punch, and some ribbon!
You can find it here: www.twoearlybirds.com/freebies/chocolate-covered-valentines

When you've been working on "possibly the coolest thing you've ever made" (husband's words. Also, mine!) And have to put it on hold to go to practice... I can't wait until this is finished and I can share it in all its glory!

What a day today- it's *and* ! So, with that being said, who would you hug today (or any day) if you could? What is an interesting fact about you no one knows? (My sister and I switched places in 8th grade. I did better on her quiz than mine that day. That seems to be the least incriminating hidden secret I have 😉)
With Valentine's Day coming up, I thought these cards would be a great way to celebrate! These cards are going to be up for free on our site tomorrow. ❤🌵❤

My Sunday view! Working on getting my area more organized. I love these cubes from and can't wait to have a whole wall full of them (in my future craft room 🤞🤞) Here's to hoping *something* will help me keep it all clean and tidy!

I'm so excited to play around with the newest addition to our craft collection! We got this new toy for Christmas and finally found some time to try it out. After some tinkering, we dove head-first into printing out some custom cookie cutters! I love how versatile (and super easy it is to use) and can't wait to 3D print all the new, crazy project ideas I have in my head!

Hey there! I'm Dawn and I wanted to take a minute to introduce my cheezin' self to those of you who may not know me. I absolutely loathe talking about myself, but here it goes!
• I'm the face behind Two Early Birds, but my (twin) sister Robyn started with me back in the day. We've always been crafty and loved when our mom would take us to the store to pick out a project or two for us to work on. We started Two Early Birds in 2012, after moving across the country with no real plans. Our family and friends were always supportive and encouraged us to start selling our work. Our first sale was a scrapbook layout, and every order since still feels as new and exciting as that first one. Over time, our focus became party supplies, and some of my favorite items to make are banners and cards. (Ribbon, pop-dots, and glitter make everything better in my opinion!) In 2015, Robyn started her family (I have the cutest nieces and nephews), so she had to take a step back. She is currently working on growing her cookie decorating business, and I can't wait to see what she has planned for this year.
• Personally, I have been married for the last 1.5 years, but we've been together for 8.5 years. We met through his co-workers (we both work in schools) on a blind date that almost didn't happen. I'm always surprised he kept wanting to see me, especially after the first date where he did all of the talking! He is a big support- he doesn't worry that I binge-watch crime TV and doesn't usually get too upset when my crafting spreads through the entire apartment.
• As for most people, 2020 came with challenges. After schools closed, it took a lot out of me, even though I had all the time in the world now. At the end of April, I finally found the joy in crafting again and then my family suffered an unexpected loss and more. It was a tough summer, but the last few months have brought back the joy I find in my work. I was able to find that excitement again during the holidays, even though they were difficult times. The New Year has brought hope and excitement for what can happen this year!

As I sit here enjoying the last few days of the holiday season, and plan my next week, I look back on all of the trials and tribulations of 2020. It's been a hard year for everyone, but there were still some bright spots. It might just take a little longer to look for them. I'm looking forward to bigger things in 2021, and have big plans around here. I've never felt as ready for a New Year as I do tonight. (And my wine-and-cookie dinner definitely helps!)

The last few days have been spent working on getting cards and gifts ready to send out (are you even a crafter of you don't have a ton of projects on the to-do list the week before Christmas??), but I couldn't let go by without a shout-out to my twin and to my favorite set of twins! ❤🏃‍♀️

Happy Small Business Saturday! I'm sure in the last month, you have all been inundated with sales and ads, from big box stores, telling you what you "need" to buy. This is a friendly reminder to support your local small businesses this season. It's been a rough year all around, and I'm sure many of them can use your support this year. As a small (tiny) business owner, I can tell you that every time a sale goes through, a little happy dance is done (or at least that giddy feeling comes out). Your support helps put food on the table, the rent or mortgage paid, the electricity and heat going, and so much more.
This season, business owners also understand the hardships their customers are facing. There are other ways to support your local small businesses without necessarily spending any money, whether it's talking about them on social media, "bragging" about where you got something special, or just word-of-mouth advertising. Every little thing is truly appreciated.

It's been said that the "best way to spread Christmas cheer is singing loud for all to hear!" In my opinion (and for the sake of those around me) that's not really the case. I think it's using any of your talents to make someone's day brighter, and don't we all need that this year? I woke up to this picture of some of my favorite kiddos this morning. Auntie, along with her new Elf friend, was able to send some magic their way this year! Now that Thanksgiving is over, the fun can really start!

When you have errands to run but also have too many tabs open in your brain, trying to work on too many projects at once. At last count, there are at least 10 different projects in this pile. Gotta keep working to clean up the spread!

Is it too early to skip over Halloween and Thanksgiving this year and jump straight to Christmas?? Asking for a friend, of course...🎅🎅
I usually try to wait until November 1 to start decorating, but this year needs some early holiday cheer! I decided to start with our bedroom, and slowly add some pieces here and there, so in a few days I can go all out! I love how this super easy ribbon garland looks around the window, and it comes with a remote, so I don't have to search for the switch. I can't wait to start adding the other pieces in!
