I came home one day in August 2018 with an idea, I was going to start a mobile bar. At the time, no one understood what this was or what it could be. My boyfriend at the time (and now husband), Grant, was all in and encouraged me to follow my dreams. I told my dad and mom my idea, my dad said “I think I can build it”, and within 3 days I had an old rusty trailer in my parent’s driveway.
Over the next several months, my dad and I worked on that trailer almost every night. There were plenty of late Home Depot runs, 3 am wake ups from my dad wondering how we are going to make this happen, and hundreds of hours spent bonding with my dad I wouldn’t trade for the world. This trailer has memories and love in every board, screw, and wire connecting it all. From my aunt building the cabinet doors to my papa who helped with the electrical. Even my dog, Ben, was at every event since I rescued him. It became a part of my story, my family, and was at my wedding a few weeks ago. Sharing something I’m so proud of and love so much with our closest people was so special, and a great closer to this chapter.
After 7 years it’s time for a new chapter, as I pass this bar on to its next owner. Thank you to everyone who supported, celebrated, and helped me along the way. Cactus Cantina will always hold a special place in my heart (and my parents driveway) 🫶🏼
