It is with a heavy heart that I announce that Walnut Tree weddings in Olton, Texas, will be moving at the end of December this year. We could not come to a lease agreement, and have decided to move on. We have been fortunate to have 10 seasons in this location. I can honestly tell you that this has been 10 years of absolute joy for me. We have poured so much into this property and all who entered it. It is such hard work, but what a ministry. The brides and grooms that I have prayed over have been numerous. I have been blessed to spend the best day of a couple’s life with them. Surpassing all of their expectations has always been my goal. As much blood, sweat? and tears as we have poured into this location, we will pour into another one. This is just a bump in the road. Walnut Tree, and the Lord’s work, will continue!

Now, on an exciting note……. We are moving to Plainview!!! Beginning January, 2023, we will be open in a New York loft style venue on the top floor of Santas Mercantile. This is on the corner of 5th and Ash. We are so excited to be working with Ranada Jack. Her vision for Plainview is amazing! The building is incredible!! However, the venue portion is under constitution, so please give us time before coming to visit or call me to set up a tour. 806-787-0356. We are also working toward opening a second larger venue the year after. Together with Plainview Downtown Restoration, we believe we can bring new life and opportunities to Plainview, Tx. We have BIG plans!!!!!!

Education and teaching our young people how to work have always been a huge priority for us!! We are going to continue that as well. We are going to have opportunities for more extensive education and training, both for our youth and others. Please stay tuned to all we have coming and PLEASE keep us in your prayers as we move toward something amazing! The pictures included are renderings of our inspiration. This is similar to what the building will look like finished.

Sooo, the weather did NOT cooperate with us on this Friday’s wedding preparations. We had to change centerpieces 3 times. We went from beautiful warm humid weather, to a gusty dirt storm, then nice calm and warm again, then a massive wind storm again, then right at wedding time the winds calmed and it was perfect for the rest of the evening. sometimes you just have to roll with it.

We fed almost 700 people this weekend. We had a doubleheader wedding weekend. A huge one on Friday and another on Saturday. These two events could not have been more different. But they were both totally wonderful in their own way. I feel so blessed to get to do what I do, and I am so blessed to have a staff that is always willing to go the extra mile.

Wedding #2 this weekend, so sweet, calm and peaceful, but oh so hot! 107 at wedding time and the A/C went out in the reception hall. Luckily it did not quit until eight so it was bearable but hot. Thanks to everyone for being so kind. In our 10 years that has never happened! Praying it never happens again!
