Another local business appreciation post!

A big thank you to Hometown Appliance for all the little (and not-so-little!) things we’ve thrown their way throughout this renovation.

One thing I’ve learned during this project is that the “small tasks” add up quickly—and having people you can call who show up when they say they will is worth its weight in gold. And when I’ve found myself in a time crunch, they’ve even managed to get here faster than expected.

We’re so thankful for Hometown Appliance and all of the local businesses and tradespeople who have helped us bring The Parlour to life.

There are a whole lot of people behind the scenes of a project like this, and we couldn’t do it without them.

Out with the old… and another step closer to the new!

A huge thank you to R&D Electrical for getting the old sign structure down for us. Ron and his crew have been truly wonderful to work with throughout this project—reliable, helpful, and always willing to tackle whatever we throw their way.

If you’re looking for a commercial electrician, I absolutely recommend giving R&D a call. We’re so grateful for the people and local businesses helping us bring this vision to life.

It’s time!

After months of dreaming, designing, renovating, hauling, painting, cleaning … and more trips to the dumpster than I care to count…we’re officially ready to start showing you The Parlour.

We are NOW scheduling private tours!

If you have a wedding, shower, birthday, meeting, celebration, or special event coming up, come walk through the space, hear what we have planned, and start imagining what your event could look like here.

There’s still work happening behind the scenes, so you might see a little dust—and that’s part of the fun. You’ll get to be one of the first to step inside and watch this place come to life.

And yes…we’re scheduling events, too!

Another long day coming to a close.

10 hours in today and still going.

Staining brick, scrubbing floors, hauling things around, getting absolutely filthy…and eventually eating Joe's Pizza-Olney on the floor.

Renovation days aren’t always glamorous.

But one thing I really love about all of this is that my girls get to see me do hard things. They see the ideas and the pretty parts, but they also see the work behind them—the mess, the problem solving, the long days, and the decision to keep going when I’m tired.

And sometimes they jump right into the middle of it with me.

Someday soon this space will be finished and beautiful and full of people celebrating.

But tonight, it was four young girls sitting on the floor eating pizza in the middle of a construction zone.

And I kind of love that part, too.

When one delivery day turns into two… you know things are getting real.

Two days of bar equipment deliveries are officially in the books!

It might not be the prettiest part of the renovation, but this is one of those milestones that makes The Parlour feel less like a construction project and more like the event space we've been working toward all this time.

Soon these boxes will be opened, the equipment will be installed, and this bar will be serving drinks while people celebrate some pretty incredible moments.

For now, though… I'm just happy everything made it off the truck.

The part of a renovation you don’t always see.

I think this is dumpster #6.

The heat index is 105°, I’ve made more trips to this dumpster than I could possibly count, and somehow there is still more stuff to haul out.

Renovating The Parlour has had plenty of exciting moments—the chandeliers, the paint colors, the beautiful details coming together. But there’s also a whole lot of this.

Carry it out. Clean it up. Go back for another load. Repeat.

It’s hot. It’s exhausting. And some days, progress looks a lot less glamorous than others.

But it’s still progress.

One load, one project, one very sweaty day at a time.

I FINALLY opened the crate.

And ohhhh, she’s good.

After seeing this sign in drawings and renderings for months, getting the first peek at that black and gold in real life feels a little surreal.

I’m not showing you the whole thing just yet…

Next stop: the front of The Parlour.

I cannot wait to see this beauty where she belongs.

I've been a little quiet lately. The last couple of weeks have been spent soaking up the final days of summer with family and friends—and honestly, it was time well spent.

But that doesn't mean things haven't been happening at The Parlour!

We've made some big strides on the entryway, and she's becoming quite the showstopper. I wanted this first space to set the tone the moment you walk through the doors—a little dramatic, a little unexpected, and just enough to make you think, "Okay... I need to see the rest of this place."

And we're not done yet.
