This is our sweet girl Zayda Rose. Over the past year or so Zayda has been losing weight; we had originally attributed it to her age, we don’t know how old she is for sure but estimate to be about 14. After she continued to lose weight, the vet did more testing and found she had hyperthyroidism. Today Zayda had a radioactive isoline therapy at the University of Illinois veterinary school. Shr did great with her treatment and will have to spend a few days at the Uof I, and then will spend 4 weeks in respite at our house before returning to work or the shop.

We will keep you all informed on her progress.

Sharing this to maybe help other cats who are suffering the same condition. This procedure has a 95% success rate so we are very hopeful our Zayda Rose will be recover and live for several more healthy and loving years.

Friends, today we had to pay a tariff that was higher than the cost of the items for some products we have carried for the past couple of years that come from England.

Our customers have love the Swedish dishcloths, the coconut husk scouring pads, bamboo tooth brushes and other ecologically savvy products offered by this wonderful little company.

This is most likely have to be our last shipment from them, I don’t see any way we can charge what these products would have to sell for.

As consumers, are you willing to absorb the costs of the tariffs?; small businesses will not be able to do so.

And before you tell me that I need to be buying American made, we do that as much as we can, but so many products are not manufactured stateside and let’s face it, consumers enjoy a little something from around the world right here in Olney Il.

The tariffs are killing retail; I have had so many people say they wish we had a strong downtown shopping district again, remember that when you vote.
