The German-American Cultural Center is home to the Cleveland Donauschwaben (Danube Swabians) ethnic group. The Donauschwaben are a German ethnic group that primarily immigrated to America following World War II and created a society to celebrate their traditions and language. The Cleveland Donauschwaben have a very active membership of all ages that enjoys participating in a variety of groups and

activities. Without the hard work and dedication of all of our ancestors, the traditions we have kept, the friendships that have formed, and the memories that have been made would not have been possible. The goals of the German-American Cultural Center are to promote and continue the traditions of our Donauschwaben ancestors through the language, song, dance, music, dress and customs of our ancestors. We pay tribute to our ancestors that have endured so many hardships and worked so hard to give the future generations so much.

Our Jugendgruppe participated in the Landestreffen mit Tanzwettbewerb today at The American Aid Society of German Descendants with five other talented dance groups. We find out the results tomorrow! 🤞🏻

And just like that, our time with our Hungarian friends from Németkéri Tánccsoport and Biatorbágyi Fúvós Kisparti / Kleinturwaller Musikanten has come to an end!

We had such a wonderful time with our guests during their stay in Cleveland and made sure to show them as much of our city and community as we could! From performances and dancing to exploring and making memories, it was truly a special visit.

We’re already looking forward to seeing them again at Landestreffen in Chicago next weekend! Until then, we wish them safe travels and a wonderful time at their next stop in Akron!

We can’t wait to see you again!

One of the last things on our checklist before saying goodbye to our Hungarian guests from Németkéri Tánccsoport and Biatorbágyi Fúvós Kisparti / Kleinturwaller Musikanten was to teach them “Drah Di Rum”! Now they’ll be ready to join all of the other groups for the friendship dance at Landestreffen in Chicago next weekend! 🎶❤️

We can’t wait to see everyone out on the dance floor together! What a fun way to continue the friendships and memories we’ve made!

What an incredible evening with our guests Németkéri Tánccsoport and Biatorbágyi Fúvós Kisparti / Kleinturwaller Musikanten from Hungary! 🇭🇺💃🎺 They put on a truly wonderful performance last night, and we are so grateful for all the hard work and dedication they put into creating such a special show for us.

Everyone loved watching them perform, and the fun didn’t stop there—we all danced together late into the night! What a memorable evening filled with music, dancing, friendship, and culture. 🇺🇸❤️🇭🇺
