Mother’s Day is just around the corner, and spring is finally beginning to unfold. The first blooms of the season will be ready to share with you later this week—just in time for Mother’s Day. 🤍

Mother’s Day deliveries within the Traverse City area are now available for pre-order on my website—if you’d like to send something truly special to mom, this is the moment to reserve one. Find the link in my bio.

My signature petite bouquet bundles will also be at Burritt’s this Friday and Saturday.

I have a small number of flower subscriptions still available for preorder, with the season set to begin shortly after Mother’s Day. As a one-woman operation—growing and tending every flower myself, and carefully designing and wrapping each bouquet—I hold both quality and design to the highest standard. Which, naturally, means there is a limit.

If you’ve been thinking about a subscription, for yourself or someone special, now is a good time—before the season quietly fills up. Truly.

Spring is finally here… I think 🌱

Or at least that’s what the calendar says—even if this week has me questioning everything.

And my mind? Completely taken over by flowers.

I think about them all day—tiny seedlings, strong starts, who needs water, who needs protection from the next late frost. I dream about flowers… and occasionally have nightmares about something eating them.

I worry about viruses, pathogens, coolers breaking down at the worst possible moment…and whether this will be the year the bunnies decide, once again, that this garden is actually theirs.

I check fences. Cover crops. Weather apps. Then check them all again.

I sit over spreadsheets, order vases for weddings, more buckets (always more buckets), and keep a close eye on the tulips while gently mothering the ranunculus.

Also—have I mentioned that I do not want to see one more dahlia tuber?I am more than ready to bury them in the soil and pretend they no longer exist.

I go back and forth—should the hoophouse be 84 feet long… or 92?And what about that ridge vent?

I transplant thousands of seedlings, knowing they need strong roots before the real warmth arrives. The well guys stop by, check the pressure, and casually inform me that without a regulator, the entire irrigation system could basically blow up. Kaputt.

And somehow…I chose all of it. It’s a way of life, really. What else would Svenja do?

All in the name of flowers 💐

Here she is, in all her glory — “The Space Between.”
A reminder that we all share this earth — and it is the simplest things that tie us together.

What began as a wedding arch became something deeper — a quiet offering to love in all its forms.
To the beauty of two souls finding one another, no matter their path, no matter how their love is named.

I believe the world grows softer, kinder, when we honor every kind of love — when we stand for equality, for the right to celebrate it freely.

Before we cast judgment on how others choose to live or love, may we look within — and find the grace to meet one another there, in the space between —
where love simply is.

This one’s for you, & 🌈

October🍂
When the air turns crisp, nights stretch longer, and you chase one last magical sunset before the sun might leave you for months at a time.
The flower fields are fading, with a few small surprises still catching your eye.
Everything feels so fleeting.
You look back on the season you’ve poured yourself into — tired, a little wobbly on your feet, yet full of awe at the beauty you’ve coaxed into being.
All of my dreams came true when I built this dried flower arch, and what better way to close the season than having .furman come out to my fields and capture it in that one last golden sunset.

Thank you to J & J for giving me the opportunity to create this amazing piece of art for your special day, to for believing in me, and to all of the beautiful people who helped me along the way — I will never forget your love and support.

When mid-August hits, the days and nights blur together—endless farm chores, flowers to harvest, bouquets to create, weddings to plan and bring to life.

So, we take the most gorgeous vintage car, fill it to the brim with blooms, drive it to the back fields, and let make it all look effortless. But here’s the truth: when something looks effortless, it’s usually the result of enormous effort. Thousands of stems grown and harvested, every color, height, and texture carefully considered. The hunt for that perfect car, an evening with that glowing light (hello, Northern Michigan sunset), the vintage leather gloves, the favorite hat, the dress tucked away in the closet.

Why do all of this? Because as an artist, dreaming up projects pushes me—it challenges me to see things differently, to scale up, to stretch and grow in ways that bouquets alone never could.

Am I tired? Yes.
Am I glad I persevered? Absolutely.
Did I learn something? Without a doubt.
Am I already dreaming of the next photoshoot? Of course.

And is it winter yet, so I can finally curl up by the fireplace? Please, yes.

And finally - what kind of car should we fill with flowers next for Raquel to photograph? Drop your dream ride below… I just might open the casting call.

I can hardly believe late summer is already here, with fall just around the corner. The days are growing shorter, and the leaves are beginning to hint at the colors to come. In my fields, change happens daily—the ranunculus, anemones, and poppies of spring have long given way to flushes of celosia, marigolds, and zinnias.

Sometimes I forget how far I’ve come, how many flowers I now grow, and how important it is to pause, breathe, and truly take in the beauty of it all. I’m so thankful for the chance to capture these moments along the way—like when I brought these beauties to and .furman captured it with her camera.
P.S. how beautiful is the vase in the first image that made for me?
