After some much needed time off to enjoy this one, we visited the farm to get ready to plant tulips this fall. Can’t wait to be back next spring! 🌷👩‍👧

our family is growing! 🌱🌷 baby girl coming march 2023!

I can’t wait for this baby girl to be playing in the dirt, smelling the “roses”, discovering bugs, jumping in puddles, and dancing among flowers along side me at the farm. I always started this business with the idea of growing it alongside my children. That dream is finally becoming a reality.

This was a journey but I can’t wait to meet this baby girl and know it was all worth it. I know some people noticed I was MIA this past growing season after spring. I decided to make the tough decision to let the farm take a back seat so I could spend more of my time focused on growing my family.

2023 will also look a little different as this baby girl is arriving right at the same time tulips usually are ready. Next spring I will be taking time off but will be back to planting all my dahlias by June. Fall is going to be gorgeous as I have managed to continue to grow my dahlia collection and will have over 1,500 plants next year! So be on the lookout for subscriptions and flowers to come. I also have spent the last year learning from the amazing ladies at and I can’t wait to share what’s coming in 2024!

Tulips making a short appearance this year but I will never get over their beauty. After the cloudiest April on record followed by a 90 degree week has these flowers confused and all blooming at once.

We usually plant early, mid and late blooming tulips to spread out our season to usually 4 weeks of spring blooms. This year the field is blooming in less than 2. A lot of blood, sweat and tears goes into planting these bulbs in the fall and every year I have decided to increase my crop for the following spring.

I know so many of you supported the farm over the last week and we appreciate you all greatly for that! I have a big request for you all… get the word out about our tulips being available for purchase this next week!

Happy Earth Day! 💙 🌎💚
This time last year my armload of flowers looked a lot different (please see profile picture) but I am just excited to see flowers finally this year! While every spring (especially in Chicago) brings it’s own challenges and weather fluctuations, I can’t help but to be reminded how much farming is at the will of Mother Nature. I’ve always said I want to leave this Earth better than I found it and my work here on the farm is just one step of many towards that goal. I hope this year you find time to get outside, enjoy the little gifts from the earth around us and you take that one step towards leaving this place better than you found it! ✌🏼💕😊🌱

Chicago in March has me dreaming of armfuls of flowers this summer. Excited for the changes coming this year at the farm. My motto for 2022 “grow what makes me happy” … narrowing my focus on growing more of my favorites and eliminating the rest! Gomphrena and other fun flowers to use fresh or dried made the cut… sunflowers you didn’t ✂️🌻

march is here, which means my basement is starting look like the inside of a greenhouse. can’t wait for all ranunculus this year, it’s my favorite flower which is why I used it in my logo. can you see the similarities? what is your favorite flower?
