Let's talk room flips. Room flips are a great option for weddings, especially in Oklahoma with its temperamental weather. While room flips are a great tool to host your ceremony & reception in one place, sometimes the logistics of pulling off a room flip can get a little overwhelming. One of the biggest concerns we hear from our clients is "how do we create two unique looks in on space?"
One of our favorite tips and tricks for a room flip is to create a ceremony look that can be expanded on in the reception. Bonus, it's a great budget saver too!
For Layne & Colby's wedding, we wanted to create a romantic and elegant ceremony backdrop. To accomplish this look we used greenery, floral base pieces, and both floating and pillar candles. As a finishing touch, we used string 'fairy' lights placed behind the drapery.
For the reception, our vision was to make it look like Layne & Colby's sweetheart table had "grown" out from the wall and the original altarpiece. To create this look, we used a serpentine table with the same color table linen as the ceremony altar. We then relocated the two large floral base pieces to either side of the table and placed the candles both on and around the table. The last element to make the table complete was using Layne's bouquet as a centerpiece.
By utilizing the original ceremony altarpiece and modifying it for the reception, we were able to create a look that was romantic, unique, and cohesive for both parts of their wedding.
Do you think we pulled off two unique yet cohesive looks for Layne & Colby's wedding?
