Is humor appropriate during a ceremony ?

When it came to this fun loving, light-hearted couple, it was an absolute guarantee that humor would play a part. A few of these photos depict these moments of playfulness. But it was all serious business when it came to planning the big day. It was the perfect setting on a late September, early fall day, with views for miles of the Wasatch range all around from the patio of Wolf Creek Resort in Eden, Utah.

I don’t know what it is about being at the higher elevations of the Big and Little Cottonwoods outside Salt Lake City… so take a look for yourself. Mother Nature was very cooperative this past weekend with temps in the low 80’s and crystal clear skies, offering my couples a wedding paradise. The outdoor wedding season in the Cottonwoods is short, and reaches its peak about mid - October.

I was thrilled when this couple told me they had selected the Church of the Dirt, high above the Park City area. I had heard how magnificent the views were and the uniqueness of the venue. It was even better than I imagined. I’ve been to many beautiful venues, but almost nothing compares with the natural beauty of this place. There is so much magic in being with a couple at sunrise in the magnificent Zion National park as they join in the most sacred of unions. I have traveled to southern Utah numerous times for this moment. If you are looking fir something sacred and extremely intimate, look no further. Weddings in big barns are a common occurrence in a beautiful state. Tall ceilings lend an air of expansiveness, and this barn setting was no exception.
