Ogallala Indian Summer Rendezvous 2026 Rendezvous | September 17th, 18th & 19th

Back when the South Platte Valley was the primarily the home of the Ogallala Sioux, a handful of settlers, trappers, and assorted other wanderers would come together to celebrate the bounty of summer and have one last gathering before the cold winter winds would begin to blow. For over 35 years, the citizens of Ogallala have come together in that tradition to celebrate our colorful past with bands, live entertainment, dancing and a diverse assortment of local talents. Right in the heart of downtown Ogallala, we put up a giant tent and have a grand ol' time before the Nebraska winter settles in.

September 26 marks 𝐟𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐲𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐬 𝐨𝐟 𝐒𝐡𝐚𝐰𝐧 𝐑𝐮𝐛𝐞𝐤 as Keith County Tourism Director!

This year, Shawn chaired the Ogallala Indian Summer Rendezvous Committee. If you saw him at Rendezvous, you probably saw him moving from one thing to the next, answering questions, solving problems, checking on people, and doing whatever needed to be done. What you may not have seen were all the hours he put in before the first visitor arrived.

Shawn, thank you for caring so deeply about this event and the people who make it happen. Rendezvous takes an entire community, and we’re grateful for the way you brought people together for its 42nd year.

You saw the music, the crowds and the fun—but this is the part of Rendezvous most people never see. ❤️

Once everyone heads home, there are tables to move, equipment to return, fences to haul, decorations to remove…and approximately nine million cornstalks to wrestle into submission. 😂🌽

Community events don’t set themselves up, and they definitely don’t clean themselves up. This Reel captures only a few of the many people who worked before, during and after the event. We may not have caught everyone on camera, but please know that every hour, every helping hand and every bit of muscle was noticed and deeply appreciated.

Families are exploring, kids are playing, food vendors are serving, community partners are visiting with guests—and some amazingly hardworking volunteers are making it all possible.

Events like Rendezvous take an incredible amount of time, energy and physical work behind the scenes. The very best way to show everyone involved that their work matters is to come participate and experience it with us!

Come down to Rendezvous Square, enjoy the activities, grab something delicious from a food vendor and stop by the refreshment garden for a cocktail, b**r, soda or even a bottle of water. Every visit and every purchase helps support the event.

Then stick around for live music tonight from No Drinking On Grounds! 🎶

Yes, the band is called No Drinking on Grounds—but there are definitely plenty of drinks at the refreshment garden. 😂🍻
