When an entire city believes in you, the grind becomes bigger than you. Every step forward is for the people who believed before the world did.

I’m grateful for every opportunity this journey has given me and for the people I’ve met along the way.

Spending time with the team at InterStellar BBQ was an honor. Nothing but respect for what they’ve built and the standard they continue to set. It’s always a privilege to learn, share ideas, and be surrounded by people who are just as passionate about the craft.

To everyone back home in Iowa who has supported me from day one, thank you. I carry that support with me everywhere I go. This journey has always been bigger than me.

I want to thank the National Pork Board for believing in me and trusting me to represent American Pork on an international stage.

I had the opportunity to compete against some of the most respected chefs and pitmasters in the culinary world while introducing people from around the world to Thyron Mathews BBQ.

This trip challenged me, humbled me, and reminded me why I love what I do.
