Before today's forecasted rain moves in how about a Friday project update. Wade Brooks changed our northside look for the best yesterday. The first coat of two has been added & wow hasn't that made a huge difference? Work on the east side will commence in the next couple days if it can dry out again. That will polish up the outside look before the snow flys.
It's so great to know how much our hometown Oelweins community supports our endeavors here on the corner. All donations don't have to be monetary in value but they sure are appreciated & cared for.
This weekend begins 8 in a row of large family & friends gatherings here at the venue until the end of November.

September was a BIG month at StayOelwein!

Our 1-bedroom unit was booked every day in September except FOUR! We’ve been thrilled to welcome guests to Oelwein, including several extended stays from out-of-town employees working in and around our community.

Our 2-bedroom unit has also been a hit, especially with guests coming to town for events at Transco Events on Frederick. We love being able to give visitors a comfortable, convenient place to stay right here in downtown Oelwein.

And after just two months of hosting, we’re excited to share that StayOelwein is maintaining a ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 5-star rating on Airbnb with 23 guest reviews!

With the holiday season right around the corner, now is a great time to start thinking about where everyone is going to sleep.

The Northeast Iowa Workforce Development Board is hosting Work Ready Fayette: Youth & Family Career Night on Thursday, November 19, 2026, from 5:30–7:30 p.m. at Transco Events on Frederick, 137 S. Frederick Avenue in Oelwein.

This free, hands-on event will give Fayette County youth and families opportunities to practice interview skills, receive résumé assistance, explore local careers and training options, build financial-literacy skills, and learn about college, short-term training, registered apprenticeships, work-based learning, and direct employment.

The evening will also include a free dinner, door prizes and giveaways. Limited childcare will be available, and transportation assistance may be available upon request.
