Friday at the Fort is a free community event for locals to enjoy listening to music, eating food, and fellowshiping with family and friends. Now in its third year, Friday at the Fort continues to host hundreds of locals in the perfect venue, Fort Maurepas Park, also known as The Fort. With the prettiest view of the beach and the most perfect sunsets, The Fort creates the most iconic backdrop for a good vibe. Join us for an unforgettable journey to the land of Narnia in The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe! This classic tale brings C.S. Lewis’ beloved story to life as four siblings discover a magical world frozen in winter, ruled by the White Witch, and awaiting the return of the great lion Aslan. Packed with adventure, courage, and hope, this Shine KIDS production will captivate the whole family.

Told by two separate, talented casts under the direction of Mrs. Laura Williams, this production showcases the incredible heart and dedication of our young performers.

The Music Alive Ensemble of New Orleans will feature Stephanie Jordan and Rachel Jordan on Saturday, August 23rd 2025, at the Mary C. O’Keefe Cultural Arts Center.

The performance will include Stephanie Jordan's acclaimed vocals framed by an eight-piece jazz ensemble encased by a string quartet led by her sister, classical violinist Rachel Jordan. A version of their recent performance at The Historic Eldorado Ballroom in Houston, TX for the ROCO’s Unchambered Series may be viewed on YouTube. It builds on Stephanie’s signature trademark of singing jazz standards from the Big Band era.

Enjoy a theatrical telling of the life of Mary Cahill O’Keefe!

Synopsis: A Theatrical performance chronicling the life and times of Mary Cahill O’Keefe. (circa 1893-1980) The story and accompanying music was written by Debbie Mathis Watts, with stage adaptation and direction by Tom Dolan. The piece is performed in the style of a one woman show, with interjections of a narrator portrayed as Mary’s father, Jeremiah O’Keefe I. (circa 1860-1911) The show, in its full length, will run ~ one hr, 30 minutes with a shorter version adapted for school age children to run 50 minutes.
