The Ocean City Film Festival is celebrating its 10th season March 5–8, 2026 — and we're spotlighting you!

Submit your short film (under 15 minutes) to be featured in the Maryland High School Film Showcase — a brand new category just for student filmmakers across the state. There’s no cost to enter, no theme required, and every story is welcome.

Save the date! Ocean City Film Festival Horror Film Night

6pm-9pm @ the Ocean City Center for the Arts | 502 94th St. Ocean City, MD 21842

Join us on Saturday October 25th for a specially curated selection of horror shorts. The doors open at 6 for an hour of refreshments and networking, followed by the film screening at 7pm. After the films, there will be a Q&A with filmmakers in addition to a Halloween costume contest. Attendees are encouraged to attend in costume for a chance to win surprise OCFF swag!

Viewer discretion is advised as these films contain graphic content including, but not limited to, vulgar language, violence, gore, sexual situations, horrific sequences, and visually disturbing sequences that may not be suitable for epileptic viewers.

Created by THAT’S MY BIKE! Productions. The ancient demon Megagoth Gorgophone Nizhalgal Mohandas threatens to lay waste to the peaceful realm of Crundalk. Amid the cosmic terror and desolation two unlikely heroes must team up to combat the beast. The wizard Tasmania Jones, and noble knight Sir Garland Alabaster 53rd of His Name, wander the ruins of Crundalk to restore order to the natural world in this first chapter of the Post-Lore series.

🎬 Be part of the 10th Annual Ocean City Film Festival! 🎬

March 5–8, we’ll showcase 90+ independent films from around the world—and we need volunteers to help make it happen!

Right now, we’re collecting interest forms (this is not the official sign-up). The full volunteer sign-up will open soon, and you’ll get an email once it’s live.

Volunteers help with tickets, merch, ushering, and parties. Tech volunteers with AV experience are also needed.

Mandatory volunteer meeting: Feb. 18, 3:30pm at the Art League of Ocean City (get your festival shirt, lanyard, and details). High schoolers—your hours count!

A big congrats to "Warriors Beyond the Battlefield" which just won an international award at the Black Filmmakers Festival in Toronto, Canada for Best Documentary! This film debuted at the Ocean City Film Festival and won an Audience Choice Award 🤩

Beach to Bay Heritage Area helped produce the documentary with Unscene Productions.

We had a great turnout for our Ocean City Film Challenge film screening!

Congratulations to our award winners 🤩

🥇First place: Ocean City Vacation Daze: A “Ken Burns” Film directed by the PAC 14 crew of Thomas Taylor, Chris Demone, Xavier Geraldes, and Steve Myers.
This film is an homage to legendary documentarian Ken Burns as he takes us on a mock vacation with his family in Ocean City.

🥈Second place: The Worst Gift in Ocean City directed by Holden Connor.
A group of young girls seek out the worst gift in Ocean City.

🥉Third place: Jolly and Gerald directed by Fiona O'Brien and Zoe Couloumbis.
This silent film describes a brother duo. Jolly, beloved by the community, is known for opening the Jolly Roger Amusement Park at the Pier. Gerald is the one who makes things happen behind the scenes.

The Ocean City Film Festival invites you to premiere night of the 8th Annual Ocean City Film Challenge. Be among the first to view original short films about Ocean City created by a group of very talented filmmakers and aspiring filmmakers.

We challenged filmmakers to produce a short film between July 1-31, 2025 shot in Ocean City or about Ocean City. The winners will be revealed during our Film Night and prizes will be awarded. Watch the films and awards and meet the filmmakers. You may be meeting the next Steven Spielberg!

Bring a chair. If it rains, films will move inside the Arts Center. Free, but all donations are welcome and happily accepted.

Day Off
Directed by Angeline Timmons
A girl desperate for an ocean city card to go on the rides, spots one. But it’s not hers, and attempts to steal it, but fails miserably each time. The victim is unaware of the situation, but thankfully her little sister stops the sneaky girl time after time. 6 minutes.

Changing Tides
Directed by Blake Dasher, Ciara Gustin, Dominic Breitenbach, Kiara Davis, Mckinley Stokley, Piper Drace
Phoebe and Wes meet on a summer day in a less than normal way on the beach, what’s to come of the two young lovers when the summer ends? After a day on the beach with the life guard, Phoebe, saving the smitten Wes we see their story start. Through a series of dates showing a growing interest between to two, but also a growing tension when it comes to the official titles of their relationship. With distance growing between them because of their opposite futures they wonder how to continue or end. Is it a flourishing love or a heartbreak leading them into a cold fall? 9 minutes.

Jolly is beloved by the community and known for opening the Jolly Roger Amusement Park at the Pier, but Gerald is the one who really makes things happen behind the scenes. 6 minutes.

Based in Ocean City, MD, a drunk from Ocean City, NJ, finds himself accidentally transported to Ocean City, MD via a bus. Here, he finds what he believes to be a thing of miracle, a liquor store. But he still believes he is in New Jersey, and this must be a hallucination of sorts. The drunk takes advantage of his full day in Ocean City, MD. To his disbelief and delight, he perused the boardwalk and enjoyed the many rides and entertainment. Still thinking it's the Jersey Ocean City, he ends his day meeting the reality of his setting through an officer's questioning. This reveal opens his eyes to how much Ocean City, MD truly has to offer to any and everyone.

A year ago, two young men battled over which side of Ocean City was better, the oceanside or the bayside. Now, they face an even greater threat. A man with a mysterious past has arrived and is causing crime and chaos in town, but can the two rivals put aside their differences to stop this new villain? 26 minutes.

DEADLINE TODAY! Register for the Ocean City Film Challenge!

Calling all filmmakers, storytellers, and creatives! The Ocean City Film Challenge is back for its 8th year—and we want to see what Ocean City looks like through your lens.

Your Mission:
Make a short film (10 minutes max) that captures the spirit of Ocean City. Whether you’re filming on the boardwalk, under the pier, or crafting a fictional story set in our seaside town, we want a cinematic narrative that brings Ocean City to life.

The Challenge Window:
July 1–31, 2025
Your film must be created within this timeframe. To make it extra interesting, we’ll give you a secret line of dialogue you must include—it’ll be revealed when you register.

Important Dates:
Register by: TODAY July 21, 2025
Final Films Due: July 31, 2025
Outdoor Premiere: August 23, 2025, 7 p.m.

Under the stars on the tennis courts next to the Ocean City Center for the Arts (94th St. bayside). Rain? No worries—we’ll take the show inside.
