Soulovely A sassy queer soulful daytime outdoor Oakland party. Monthly event every 2nd Sunday 3p-9pm. We prioritize uplifting female DJs in the music scene.

Mission statement:
Soulovely was born out of a heartfelt desire to bring together the diverse queer and trans poc communities and allies of Oakland over feel good dance music. Soulovely is DJ Emancipation, Lady Ryan, and Aima the Dreamer: 2 DJs and and MC, 3 powerful queer women of African descent who have been throwing Oakland’s favorite daytime dance party since 2011. We showcase women djs and queer djs from the Bay Area and beyond. The communities we bring together are excited to support women djs over a soundscape of SOULFUL dance music from all over the world. Fun fact: we’ve rarely repeated the same dj guest with over 80 different guests invited to play with us over the course of our 10 year history. Next Soulovely May 29th! At 7th West, Oakland CA. What started in Oakland 15 years ago has grown into a community spanning generations. Soulovely co-founders Aima Paule and Lady Ryan share how music, dance, art, and culture have helped create a space where QTBIPOC communities can connect and celebrate together. Their next chapter takes the celebration outdoors with the all-ages Soulovely Forever Festival at Snow Park on September 12. It’s a milestone rooted in community, culture, and plenty of joy. 🎶💜🌈

Oof, family. This one is tender. ❤️‍🩹

Soulovely Founder LadyRyan shares from the heart about a hard decision we’ve had to make. We dreamed BIG for our 15th anniversary, but ticket sales and sponsorship haven’t met the high costs of producing the festival at Snow Park, so we had to pivot.

And hunnies … shifting a dream we’ve poured so much love, labor, money, and hope into is humbling.

But Soulovely Forever is STILL HAPPENING!

Soulovely has never just been the three of us.
It’s ALL of us.

15 years later, we’re still here. Still choosing joy. Still choosing each other.
