We are Jonathan and Joanne Encarnacion, a husband and wife photography team. Encarnacion Photography is a boutique wedding studio that specializes in weddings and awesomeness. We only take a select amount of weddings each year and we would love to be a part of your destination wedding! When people have asked us to describe our work, the words that we think of is lighthearted, fun, and full of life
. We both have different styles, but fused together we are able to create a very unique and complete story of your day coming from different points of views, one of the reasons why we are AWESOME!! We love photographing couples celebrating their marriage with family and friends. It's such a huge honor to be a part of someone's lives and being able to document it for them to share with generations to come. We love what we do simply because we have so much passion for people in love. It's been a belief of ours that love can help anyone through any struggle in life. Afterall, its the first emotion we were ever taught in life.

2024 WINTER MINI SESSIONS
I hope you’re all having a wonderful 2024!
My first round of mini sessions for this year is around the corner during the second weekend of March. Two locations: Redwood Regional Park in the beautiful hills of Oakland and Lover’s Lane in the Presidio of SF. If you happened to purchase a mini session during my end of year sale, please feel free to claim a spot and make sure to include your gift card code when prompted.
If you can’t make it out to either of those dates, I am also hosting more throughout the rest of February and onward here at the Oakland Waterfront at Brooklyn Basin.

I always have the best time witnessing the different dynamic between parents and their kids, siblings, grandchildren and cousins, and how they all interact with each other. The way that they all express their love and fondness for each other, and sometimes in an awkward way, is very endearing. 🥰

Hi friends, family, clients, and people I have yet to meet!
I guess I just wanted to hop on here and say, “Hello,” introduce myself, and express gratitude.
So, “Hello and kamusta!” My name is Jonathan Encarnacion and I am a 🇵🇭🇺🇸 creative based out of Oakland, California. For those of you who know me personally, (God that sounded like a speech at a wedding) I am alive and doing well. My mustache finally came in after growing it for the past 15 years and I’ve finally embraced my identity as Tito (uncle) Jon. 😅 I’ve had my ups and downs as a creative and human. And after an interesting past 3 years navigating my own hardships, I’m trying to find my footing in the world again and what I have to offer it.
For those of you who don’t know me, I’m a big 🤓. I like everything sci-fi, 🎮, have an eclectic taste in music. I’ve been at this now for 10+ years now, the first families I photographed were back in 2008 and weddings in 2010. It wasn’t always easy those first few years finding my creative voice, but in that I’ve valued all the experiences shared with my clients. Lastly and most importantly I try my best to lead life with kindness, compassion, and empathy.
I’d like to express my deepest gratitude for your constant support of my craft and creativity. For those of you who have trusted me with capturing moments for you, whether they be family sessions, engagements, or your wedding day celebration — I truly value the relationship we’ve built together. I’ve thrive on that human connection, so please keep in touch.
I’ve shared, what I’d like to think is a natural ability to connect with you, your families and friends, and make them all feel comfortable in their own skin while safe in front of a camera. I can attest to that because I myself often times do not like being in front of a camera. 💁🏾♂️
Going forward into 2024, I’d like to share more of how I observe the mundane moments in life and the things in the world that I find beauty in that bring me joy. I’m more than just a wedding and lifestyle photographer and I’d like to shine more light on my creativity here.

¡MINI SESSION SALE!
YUP. It’s just about that time again!
Almost time to watch the color on leaves turn, almost time for pumpkin spice everything. Michael Buble, Mariah, and non-stop holiday music is almost upon us. Yes, I understand that we have to get through Halloween 🎃 first, and then oh, there’s Thanksgiving 🦃. 😵💫
But that doesn’t mean we can’t get started early on getting those family photographs for holiday greeting cards updated, printed, and sent out. You know, the cards that we say will send out for THE holiday, and then decide sending them out to wish everyone a Happy New Year instead because we ran out of time?
Yeah those ones. All in time for those fun, yet interesting extended family interactions. So let’s make sure to get a head start on all of that before we pumpkin spice our existence into 2024.
