The November art classes for Senior Citizens directed by Debra M. Cook were fun and so rewarding!! The classes help them discover artistic abilities they may not have known they possessed. Participants worked with various mediums, including acrylics, watercolors and oil pastels. Decorating wine glasses with fairy lights was a favorite!!
Debra’s classes have shown to improve the well-being of seniors, helping them stay active, creative, and mentally sharp. One participant, an 96 year-old, even discovered a talent for painting, reinforcing that age is just a number!

Fall is such a vibrant and uplifting season!!! 🧡 Thirty-five senior citizens created a stunning sunrise with birch trees using acrylics, showcasing their incredible talent and creativity!

Creative Art Classes for Seniors at the Oakeside Bloomfield Cultural Center, taught by Debra M. Cook, brings immense joy and fulfillment, and can also have a profoundly positive impact.

Thirty seniors enthusiastically brought a stunning landscape with sunflowers to life on canvas, titled “Under the Tuscan Sun.” The next class, scheduled for September 3rd, invites senior citizens to secure their spot in advance, as spaces are limited. 💜🎨🖌️

Discover the Joy of Art with Acrylics in August!! Creative Art Classes for Seniors at the Oakeside Bloomfield Cultural Center, expertly directed by Debra M. Cook, empower participants to unleash their creativity.
Twenty-seven enthusiastic seniors delighted in painting vibrant masterpieces on 4“ x 4“ canvas with acrylics, crafting stunning florals, landscapes, and abstracts.
Each participant took home a beautifully displayed piece, complete with a display easel!
The next acrylic painting class will be on August 13th. A wonderful lanscape painting from Italy titled “Under the Tuscan Sun” will be created with colorful, vibrant sunflowers. Senior citizens must sign up in advance, seats are limited. 💜🎨🖌️
