The unfortunate truth of owning and running a business.

Running a business is really hard.

What they don’t tell you is that it can cause severe stress and anxiety, and drains you mentally to the point of depression in even the most laid back people.

People will talk about you, compare you to others, use you, they will view you as a service and not a person anymore.

Friends and family will expect discounts and people will value you and your hard work less than a big chain store.

You have to worry about if you forget to email/message someone back, are they going to think it was on purpose? Did you disappoint them? Will they hold that against you? When in reality you just can’t get to everyone’s messages and emails.

Starting up and running a successful business puts incredible strain on personal lives and relationships, many of which fail because there is just often no work life balance. You need to be the director, the worker, the admin, the marketing team, the accountant, the cleaner..... All whilst being a parent, a husband or a wife, family support, friend... it’s one of the hardest things you will try and balance

There’s a reason you don’t see many people succeed in small businesses after 5 years. If they are successful they are overwhelmed. It takes a toll. It’s freaking exhausting. Especially the past couple of years when so much has been out of our control.

Here’s a small reminder that we are just normal people with hectic lives. Be kind, be patient, support small businesses…….and hopefully more of us will stick around!

Got some bad news this morning. One of our new potties got burned last night. Its in downtown historical Portsmouth NH at the John Paul Jones house and I guess the power company was out yesterday wrapping the lines for a construction job going on across the road and when they left the transformer on the pole started sparking and set the grass next to the potty on fire. Thankfully someone saw it and they were able to put it out before the building behind it caught fire. That would have took out the whole block since all the buildings down there are very old and close together. Sucks for us but I'm so glad that it wasn't worse.

We had a couple visitors while we were cleaning up a couple potties that are going out for the weekend. I think they were after the water coming from the pressure washer.

Just set up these pottys at Barnz's in Barrington as they are in the process of setting up a drive in screen in their parking lot. If all goes well they will be open for business next Friday.

Just picked up a 5 gallon bucket of hand sanitizer from Flaghill winery. So glad they had some for us to buy to keep our pottys stocked up.

Got some old construction units fixed up to go back online. We had 4 that needed floors and urinals from all the cigarette burns and changed doors that had been carved up. When we pulled the tanks out I couldn't believe all the empty cigarette packs and cigarette butts! These were all damaged on the same job! I charged them and they paid for all damage with out an issue. Had to modify the floors a little as they are meant for PJ3's and these are old fleets that you can no longer get floors for.

Took advantage of the nice weather yesterday and fixed a couple pottys to go out in the near future.
