Robert Brown, also known as DJ SMS, developed a passion for music at a very young age. Growing up in Los Angeles, he was influenced by the diverse music scene that surrounded him. He began his musical journey by playing percussion instruments, the clarinet, and composing music for his high school drumline. s for local parties and events, which eventually led to DJing at these gatherings. After college, DJ SMS dedicated himself to building his brand by performing at local parties and events. This hard work earned him a position at Los Angeles-based radio station 93.5 KDAY, where he joined the street team and honed his skills as a DJ and MC. His talent and dedication paid off when he became the Saturday Night On-Air Mixer for the popular station. In 2020, he expanded his radio presence as the Monday through Friday Night Show Mixer on Mega Hits 97.1 in Santa Maria. Throughout his career, DJ SMS has had the privilege of opening for numerous artists in the nightlife scene, including OT Genasis, French Montana, Chris Brown, Too Short, and Eric Bellinger. In 2019 and 2020, he joined comedic legend Mike Epps on his Platinum Comedy Tour, showcasing his versatility and ability to energize diverse audiences. In 2021, DJ SMS founded Vybe Agency, a boutique DJ agency based in Los Angeles, CA, further solidifying his impact on the music and entertainment industry. Currently, DJ SMS hosts a weekly radio mix show on Q 100.5 in Las Vegas every Friday night, continuing to bring his unique sound and energy to listeners across the airwaves.
