BREAKING NEWS: Chris Cooper Named Head Men’s & Women’s Wrestling Coach at Tuscaloosa County High School
Tuscaloosa County High School is proud to announce the hiring of Chris Cooper as the new Head Coach for both the Men’s and Women’s Wrestling programs.
With over 30 years of coaching experience across five schools in Kentucky, Coach Cooper brings a championship pedigree and a lifelong passion for developing athletes. A proven winner, he has been part of 10 State Championship teams across multiple sports, and for the past 13 years, has served as a head wrestling coach—mentoring 48 State Placers during that time.
In addition to his high school coaching success, Cooper also trains amateur and professional MMA fighters, further sharpening his skills and deepening his knowledge of combat sports.
Off the mat, Coach Cooper is a devoted husband to Carrie Cooper and father to two grown sons, Christopher and Nathan. A man of strong faith, he is an active member of Northport Baptist Church and is guided by a deep commitment to personal growth, integrity, and purpose.
“I love winning,” Cooper says, “but more than that, I love helping young people grow, compete, and realize what they’re truly capable of.”
