Our businesses are founded upon a desire to share beauty with others. Bringing flowers into the world is directly connected to our aspirations of making our community a more beautiful and just place.
As q***r folks, we exist within a history of resistance led by black and brown trans women who risked (and continue to risk) their lives in the hope of creating a safer world where all people are able to live with dignity & authenticity. In reality, we live in a world that aspires to erase those of us who are not white, able-bodied, hetero, cisgendered, or christian; this world has been rearing its head in ways that make its ever-present violence recognizable to many people - some maybe for the first time.
We run very small businesses that exist within an industry that is predicated on immigrant labor, inhumane working conditions, and majority white business ownership. We are deeply aware of our privilege; our q***rness grounds us in knowing that our own liberation is tied up in the liberation of all oppressed peoples. Our desire to live in reciprocity with the land & our community through the medium of flowers feels like the most beautiful way we know how to survive with the time that we have here.
We will continue to run our businesses in ways that align with our values. And while we have to sell things to survive, we always try to donate as much as we can to organizations that are supplying critical funding to folks who need it most.
This Valentine’s Day, we will be donating all our profits to LUCE - The Immigrant Justice Network of Massachusetts. is a coalition of immigrant-led, grassroots organizations that are grounded in principles of justice and equity, with a deep commitment to keeping all of our communities safe through grassroots organizing, information sharing, and mutual aid.
Help us make an impactful donation to LUCE this month & consider purchasing your flowers with us. After all, as the great bell hooks once said, “there can be no love without justice.” ❤️🔥
