When I moved to Massachusetts this summer, I wasn't sure what direction I wanted to take my photography business. Starting over after a cross country move is HARD. I kept an open mind, joined some local photographer groups and looked for opportunities.
Danielle popped into my feed and posted that she was holding a fundraiser and was looking for photographers for a few weekends for family mini sessions. I jumped on it right away - I am always looking for a reason to take photos!
It was the BEST decision! Over two weekends I took photos of 34 families and made some new photographer friends! ❤
Not only was it loads of fun, but we raised more funds than we even thought possible! Here was our outcome (copy + paste from Danielle!)
Because of all the photo sessions & this community's generosity, here’s what we were able to do:
✨ $500 to Abbys House
(Coats, clothing, toiletries, paper towels, tissues & more) plus a $100 monetary donation
✨ Dozens of coats donated to the Worcester County Sheriffs Department
✨ Over 600 lbs of food donated to Ginny’s Helping Hand
✨ $1,050 in monetary donations to Ginny’s Angel Tree Children
✨ $2,100 in Amazon Wishlist donations
(118 toys & gift cards!)
✨ $4,110 in monetary donations for our adopted families
🎁 Thanks to this fundraiser, we shopped for:
📌 60 children at a New York school who needed sponsors
📌 7 families with 18 children
📌 6 additional children
📌 2 special needs adults
That’s OVER 100 children’s wishes we helped support this holiday season 🎄
And that doesn’t even include the 600+ pounds of food or all the coats and clothing we donated to local charities!
📸✨ The original goal?
20 children
Thank you to everyone that participated! Here are some of the photos with permission from the families to share! ❤
