this may wedding day is on our minds — it was a day like much of this past month in maine has been, the rain was falling, and it was wet. ellie + josh, forever joyful and positive, wanted an outdoor wedding. the owners at cunningham farm had serendipitously accrued a LOT of clear umbrellas over time, so we turned it up into high gear so all guests were covered for the lovely I Do’s of these darling couple. guests moved on to a lovely bright reception (these flowers are still favorites) and enjoyed a seasonal dinner of salmon, filets, and spring asparagus. when dancing started, and the rain fell harder, the barn was cozy, alive, and full of love.

your wedding guests have clearly heard that maine is famous for beer, blueberries, and lobster . . . which one(s) are you giving them?

melissa and justin embraced the glory of and washington avenue in portland, serving up barbecue to their guests and jamming with the while sipping some of Maine’s finest craft beer. some days really are perfect . . .

what a happy day for these two, 3 years ago! ❣️❣️.

this is my husband and I, over 11 years ago at our engagement shoot at the sugarloaf outdoor center in carrabassett valley- a special place for so many mainers, including us. after leaving the advertising world and traveling the country for nascar events I was burned out and it was time to slow down, so my (now) husband and i spent time living up at “the mountain” ⛰️

well, sometimes things just happen for a reason - the 2026 season was booked, or so I thought. then, I realized there was a span in the fall where I could take another one on- for the right client. fast forward to an inquiry coming through for late september at the sugarloaf outdoor center. one consult call and we were moving to contract by the end of the conversation - the stars aligned that quickly!

so excited to work with this lovely couple - and at place I’ve always wanted to plan a wedding. and with this final booking we are round out an already incredible lineup ahead for this season.

2026 books are officially firmly closed 🪄

✨wedding spotlight ✨annie + rachel’s celebration had everything you could ever dream up, topped off with an everlasting love of two wonderful people. one of the things that made this celebration so personal to us, is that annie and rachel are a phenomenal photo + video team - one that I admire and respect so so so much. when they came to me to coordinate I was beyond touched, and also *so excited* - it’s not every day that two industry pros summon you for what will be an absolutely legendary lovefest. it’s the ultimate compliment truly. for us, this was not an average coordination job - we were juggling a great many hats beyond just our regular tasks, including:

• setting up a murder mystery element, under each ceremony chair was an envelope to begin a mystery for all guests.
• greeting and getting the tattoo artist comfy - that’s right, guests could get their own tattoo.
• coordination of a vintage car - think purple ghostbusters.
- ushering in two drag phemons - hiding them away to get into costume, and getting the show started.
- assisting the pretzel truck with parking and setup.

of course, guest book and welcome table were set up to perfection, ceremony was seamless, dinner were perfectly timed, and toasts were flawless, but annie and rachel’s magical day is a prime example of just how much a wedding can be YOU and how much we will hustle to make all your visions and dreams a reality.

✨ wedding spotlight ✨ gwen + greg - one of my favorite couples who intentionally made their wedding nontraditional and 100% a reflection their fun, vibrant personalities.

unique twists include:
• gwen’s absolutely insane blue sequined wedding dress 🩵
• bright bridesmaids dresses, black bridesmaid dresses - aka letting the bridesmaid wear what they wanted and it all was a vibe. 🎨
• a totally unique ceremony set up - alters, mantles, shelves, flowers hanging, ferns! color, brightness, beauty! 🌼
• bouquets of carrots! floral centerpieces in cabbages! gwen’s mom is a farmer florist and her skills were beyond embraced. 🥕
• a rave-like reception - think dog machine, glow sticks, and not one typical wedding song :) 🌫️

the perfect engagement shoot DOES exist — here’s how to make it happen.

1) pick a location that’s different from your wedding - for example, if you’re getting married at a countryside barn, pick the ocean for your shoot. the juxtaposition of the two places is so nice to have for your professional photos!

2) make the location somewhere special to you and your person - maybe it’s a dive bar, the neighborhood you live in, the mountain you ski at?! somewhere when you look back at the photos you’ll be like “yes! what a chapter in our history!”

3) pick a season that works for you - don’t try to cram this in just before your wedding - give yourself time enjoy this part of the engagement process.

4) use the same photographer for the engagement shoot as your wedding day - you’ll be so much more comfortable on the big day when you’ve already spent some time with your photographer! these adorable former dirigo clients, jordana + ian, used Taylor Kaminsky | Maine Wedding + Elopement Photographer for their california engagement shoot and then again in maine on sebago lake at Autumn Lane Estate | Maine Wedding Venue - trust us when we say every photo is a jaw-dropper :)
