Our Story

It all started with one man and a dream...

Robert “Sully” Sullivan, the whimsical owner of Utah Food Services (UFS), headed west in search of fresh powder upon completing his bachelor’s degree at Saint Michael’s College in Vermont. He landed a job at Snowbird Ski and Summer Resort where he trained for 12 years at a variety of mountainside and fine dining restaurants. He eventually established himself as the Executive Chef for one of Snowbird’s premier restaurants. Sully joined the Utah Food Services team in 1989, which lead to a giant, highly leveraged leap of faith when he and his wife, Susan, purchased the company in 1994 during the Salt Palace rebuild.

Through Sully’s leadership, vision, and “gut-feel,” UFS blossomed into the multifaceted catering company it is today, which encompasses three locations, multiple state-of-the-art mobile kitchens, and most importantly hundreds of dedicated employees. UFS has proven to be the Utah’s catering leader in not only the quality of service they deliver, but also in their ability to accommodate venues ranging from backyard barbecues to multiple-thousand guest banquets. No matter the size of the client, Team UFS is up to the challenge provide impeccable service and remarkable cuisine.
