Here's something that helped me think about habits differently.
Imagine there's another version of you.
Future You.
She's 10 years older.
She owns a thriving company.
She mentors entrepreneurs.
She has financial freedom.
She has peace.
Every morning she watches you hit snooze.
She's not angry.
She's just waiting.
Waiting for you to become her.
Every time you hit snooze you're saying,
"Not today."
Every time you wake up with discipline,
you're casting one vote for becoming that woman.
James Clear says habits are votes for the type of person you want to become.
I think that's exactly right.
Don't try to become extraordinary tomorrow morning.
Become predictable.
Wake up.
Drink water.
Get dressed.
Drive to the gym.
Repeat.
Do that often enough, and one day you'll realize something surprising:
You didn't become successful because you found more motivation.
You became successful because you stopped asking your feelings for permission.
