But what do you DO with the giant box in the Prop Room?! 📸😂

We’ve noticed this guy doesn't get nearly enough love in the studio, so I recruited two very professional models to demonstrate.

Turns out the answer is: a lot.

Sit in it. Stand in it. Climb in it. Make faces at your brother in it. Wear your finest yellow rain boots in it. 😂

One setup. Nine completely different little moments.

When an artist opens a photography studio… 🎨📸

The first hand-painted Feature Wall at Airloom is officially finished!

I had a vision for an oversized, abstract turquoise-inspired backdrop with lots of movement, layers and depth - and after several hours of painting, contemplating scrapping the entire thing, questioning my life choices, and adding just one more layer… ten more times… I stepped back and finally said “there she is!”

Designed to be a piece of art on its own, but even better with YOU in front of it.

Portraits. Branding. Seniors. Families. Creative shoots. Whatever you dream up.

And the best part? This wall was built to change.

So this is the first of many hand-painted backdrops to come at Airloom. ✈️

It's time for a fresh coat of paint. 🎨

One side of our movable backdrop wall is going to become something completely original (more on THAT later 👀), but we want the other side to remain a beautiful, versatile solid.

So, help us choose Airloom's first color.

So… why Airloom? ✈️

Full disclosure: that's definitely a made up word and partial credit is owed to one of our fellow creative-minded friends.

We wanted a name that meant something - but also didn't define the space so narrowly that it told us exactly what had to happen here.

Because we have a LOT of ideas.

And, in typical creative fashion, we also don't like being told what to do...😂

Now even though it's entirely made up, Airloom has a few little special layers tucked into it.

There's air: the subtle nod to the Rise Above behind RA Productions, and to the creative work we've already spent years doing.

There's a little bit of heirloom in there, too. Something worth keeping. Something made with meaning. A photograph, a piece of art, a story, a memory...something you create that lasts beyond the moment it was made.

And then there's the paper airplane. ✈️

It starts as a blank piece of paper.

On its own, it's full of possibility...but somebody has to do something with it. Fold it. Shape it. Turn it into something. And then, eventually, let that baby fly. Orrrr the alternative: realize it doesn't fly at all and go back to the drawing board to fold a new one!

To us, that felt pretty symbolic of creativity.

We don't want Airloom to be defined by just one kind of creating.

Photography. Video. Art. Classes. Workshops. Bible Studies. Meetings. Events. Celebrations. Collaboration. Learning. Gathering. Trying something you've never tried before. Taking the idea that's been sitting in your head and finally giving it somewhere to go.

That's Airloom.

A little bit of where we've come from.
A little bit of what we hope gets created here.
And a whole lot of possibility for whatever comes next. ✈️

Hi. We’re Airloom by RA Productions 🤍

But before we tell you all about us, we want to tell you where we came from.

Bunkhouse Creative NP has been a place for photographers, creators, families, businesses, and friends to make a whole lot of really good things - and really good memories.

When Bobbi announced her closure, we knew the story couldn’t end there. And when the opportunity came for us to take the reins, we knew we weren’t just getting some walls, furniture, backdrops, and props. We were being trusted with something someone else had dreamt up, built, and poured a whole lot of herself into. Something to be proud of.

And somewhere in the middle of all of that, we realized we were also getting the chance to live out a dream of our own - one that had never made sense to pursue while Bobbi was already filling that need in our community.

So before we start sharing all the things we’re dreaming up for Airloom, it only felt right to start here… with the two of us sitting on a couch. Bobbi from Bunkhouse and Emily from RA Productions. 🤍

Bunkhouse Creative Studio is transitioning to Airloom by RA Productions. ✈️

There will be a new name on the door, but this place will continue to be a space for people to create, gather, celebrate, and make memories.

We’re incredibly grateful for what came before us - and pretty darn excited to see what comes next.
