The Marchese Hendricks Project

The Marchese Hendricks Project The Marchese Hendricks Project brings joy in the form of a broad timeline of great music! A band for all ages!

From Jessica's amazing renditions of "Lady Marmalade" or "Over the Rainbow" to Adele, Carol King, Gloria Gaynor, Aretha Franklin, Anita Baker, Norah Jones and even Bruno Mars, to Davis' treatment of Michael Buble's " Everything" to the Beatles' "Something," or Joe's multiple keyboard wizardry and vocal stylings on "Danny's Song" and "Moondance," MHP brings the concept of eclectic tastes in music t

o a whole new level! The amazing chemistry this group generates is only transcended by the versatility of their repertoire! Add Mark's creative approach to percussion, Frank's esoteric vocals and masterful guitar work, and Lynn's absolutely limitless bass stylings, and you have a group that copies no other band and brings its own flavor to classic songs from every era.

Cindy and I went to the Argenta Contemporary Theatre tonight to see “Beautiful — the Carole King Musical.” The title role was wonderfully performed by a young lady who was the female vocalist for The Marchese Hendricks Project for some 15 years — Jessica Lauren Mylonas.
To no one’s surprise, she nailed the part. To MY surprise, I got a little “happy-weepy” on a couple occasions. Jess first sang a lot of the tunes in the show in our band — MHP. So, tonight brought back some nice memories.
WTG, Girl.

What great time with the Hall High Class of 1968 Reunion last night! Even with air conditioning issues at the Delta Hotel, the partiers were dancing and singing along with MHP! Thanks for having us as the soundtrack for your reunion! Let’s do it again in five!

This Arkansas Treasure is still doing her thing as a literary change agent. I remember having her in my English classroom through the Artists in the Schools program years ago.

Crescent Dragonwagon was in her 20s when she wrote a story told entirely in dialogue between a mother and her child. Now, she's updating her 1977 text with new illustrations by Jessica Love.

Don’t let anyone convince you that arts education is not the foundation of all meaningful learning.

If you wonder how important arts education is to students, don't listen to us, hear it directly from a student at Parkview. theafoundation.org/support

"I couldn’t choose just one story of how Mr. Bailey has supported me. He’s helped me grow as an artist, but as a person as well by doing things ranging from giving me hard to hear (yet very much necessary) critiques to presenting me with college scholarship opportunities so I can pursue a higher education and strive for excellence. Not all teachers truly care about their student’s success, but Mr Bailey does everything in his power when it comes to helping students reach even beyond their goals."

Big fun last night at the Oyster Bar with Joe and Gigi Parkhill, who joined us on Love, Rescue Me, Here Comes the Sun, In My Life, and Let it Be to close the first set. We had a great crowd of friends and family who helped us cheer on the Hogs to a victory over Ole Miss and sing along on some classics. Thanks to everyone for joining us! We’ll be back at the Oyster Bar on Friday, December 2, in the bar again from 6-9, so mark your calendar and come hear some great tunes.
