Winter Flower Care - did you know these tips?

Keep them away from drafts
◾Cold blasts from doors or heater vents make petals wilt faster.

Cooler is better
◾Flowers last longest in cooler rooms.

Did you get flowers at work and want to take them home?
◾Make sure to put the bag they were delivered in back on.
◾Flowers can freeze in temperatures below 32°F

Change the water often
◾Every 2–3 days:
✔ fresh water
✔ trim stems ¼–½ inch
✔ remove soggy leaves

Avoid direct sun
◾Winter sun can be surprisingly strong.
◾Indirect light = many more days of beauty.

Cut stems at an angle
◾This helps blooms drink more water.

Use flower food
◾If you don’t have a packet:
1 tsp sugar
A tiny drop of bleach or vinegar into a quart of water.

What a fun little throwback!❤️

One of my FB friends and longtime NL resident Bob B. (He's literally a town legend) posted this earlier and I told him I had to share it on this page. (You might have to click on the picture to actually read his post).

North Liberty Flower Shop is not a business I've talked about on here before, but it's got to be one of the longest standing businesses in town as Google AI tells me it opened in 1976! If that's true - this year would be the 50th anniversary of it! I do remember it used to be located in the current Sugar Bottom Bikes building across from Heyn's, but it's been in its current location on Sugar Creek LN for several years. I don't know anything regarding the owners, but just know this has been a long standing business here in town.
