We wanted to take a moment to address our recent giveaway.
The intent was simple: do something fun for our followers and give back to the people who support The Cat’s Meow Events. We invested our own time, effort, and money to provide a prize package that included pavilion tickets to a concert and transportation aboard The Cat’s Meow Events Party Bus.
Unfortunately, what should have been a positive experience turned into something else entirely.
Some people didn’t like the artist. Some people didn’t like the rules of the contest. Others accused us of running a scam because the prize required the winner to join us on the party bus and attend the concert as part of the experience rather than simply receiving tickets with no transportation involved.
To be clear, the giveaway was exactly what it was advertised to be: a party bus experience that included concert tickets. There were no hidden conditions, no bait-and-switch tactics, and no attempt to mislead anyone. If the prize package wasn’t something a person was interested in, that’s perfectly fine—but that doesn’t make it dishonest.
What has been disappointing is the amount of negativity, accusations, and personal attacks directed toward a small business that was simply trying to create something enjoyable for its followers.
Because of this experience, we have decided that The Cat’s Meow Events will no longer be conducting contests or giveaways.
It’s unfortunate that a gesture intended to give back resulted in so much criticism and hostility, but we believe our time, energy, and resources are better spent focusing on our customers and providing great experiences for those who choose to ride with us.
To everyone who supported the giveaway, shared the post, entered respectfully, and showed kindness, thank you. Your support means everything to us.
Sadly, this experience is a reminder that even when you try to do something positive, not everyone will see it that way.
We appreciate those who continue to support local businesses like ours, and we look forward to creating many more great memories with you in the future.
