We were SO proud of our Future Artist campers and their amazing showcase yesterday!!! They came in every day last week to do scene work, improv, musical theater, and create solo stories all culminating in a live show on the LACAE Stage. We loved working with this talented group!

Thank you to teachers Adam Chambers, Perry Hart, Gica Pucca and Ryan Jensen for making our first-ever Future Artist Theater Camp a wonderful success!

Looking forward to a new session this week where campers will create on-camera magic!!!

T.Michael Woolston from Disney live action production visited the Graduation Showcase class this week!

He talked about his acting trajectory and how it led to production and creative work on the other side of the biz at the studios and agencies. He also talked how to outshine others by just doing the basics everyday.
“Being on time being prepared and being nice will plant seeds for so many doors to open.”

His advice to the students included that a full life experience is more interesting and to do all things it will only help your craft and be more dynamic in roles.

Don’t wait for the roles, make your films and shorts and write your things do all the things that fill your cup and make your soul happy cause your worth isn’t your last acting job is the real stuff in between.

He is a farm boy from Indiana who came to Hollywood to act and then served as a marine corps sniper did a few tours and did private security in LA all the while acting, doing double work, background work, military consulting on set, Commerical work and acting in plays.
He then used his GI bill applied to USC film school to jump into the production side of things.

A big congratulations to our Comedic Impulse and Dramatic Instrument Intensive students who spent one week learning conservatory-style under the tutelage of LACAE Faculty Joe Garcia, Jamie Nichols, Linda Brennan, Madylin Sweeten, Noah Copfer, Steven Fisher, and Paul Davis! They deepened their craft and worked hard for a week that culminated in a live show on the LACAE Stage!

Matt is an Actor, Writer, and Producer who has appeared on Miracle Workers, Monster, Insecure, and Dropout. He shared advice and feedback with the students to help them prepare for their upcoming showcase and life after graduation!

Our Dramatic Instrument Intensive has been a week of exploration of acting through mind, body and soul. Here the students work with celebrated choreographer, Jamie Nichols to explore character through physicality.
